Social Media Week set to take over Lagos from Monday!

Social Media Week (SMW), a leading news platform and worldwide
conference that curates and shares the best ideas, innovations and
insights into how social media and technology are changing business,
society and culture around the world, is set to kick off Social Media
Week Lagos edition with a full schedule of activities from Monday, 23
February to Friday, 27 February, 2015

In its third year, the five-day event is Africa's largest tech
gathering, and will be the host of some of the best and brightest
industry-shapers in the tech and entertainment space. A wide range of
locally and internationally renowned speakers are set to give insights
and share knowledge from their wealth of experience.

The theme for this year's event is "Upwardly Mobile: The Rise Of A
Connected Africa", and this year the conference will also introduce
#SMWLagosExplore, to take place on Friday, 27th of February. PIN, PAGA,
Andela, and other digital technology organisations have teamed up with
the event to #GetLocal, and explore Lagos's burgeoning tech and creative
communities.

Ngozi Odita, the Co-Founder/Executive Director, SMW Lagos said, "As the
western world begins to explore and move towards being a mobile-first
society across Africa mobile has always been our first-screen". She
continued, "From mobile payments to health screenings via mobile
devices, there is much the world can learn from Africa.

Our devices not only enable us to stay connected to each other and the
world, but they also enable us to solve local problems.  As we rapidly
move towards putting devices in the hands of every African, the outcomes
will surely be tremendous”.
