Nigeria: 52 Sex Workers Rounded Up in Lagos
52 commercial sex workers have been arrested by the Lagos State Taskforce on Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit. The ladies, with ages ranging between 18 and 34, were raided at different locations in Isaac John and Toyin streets at Ikeja by policemen attached to the unit.
The exercise became necessary as a result of several complaints from the residents of the area about the activities of these nocturnal beings. The raid was said to have taken place between 10pm on Wednesday and 1am on Thursday.
Details of the raid were provided by a source within the taskforce: “We started moving round Toyin Street and later Isaac John Street to know where the prostitute usually stand to solicit for customers… as soon as we were satisfied, we started arresting them. The excercise did not last for more than three hours.”
Chairman of the Task Force, Superintendent Bayo Sulaiman, also confirmed the incident, saying, “There had been complaint by residents against a surge of commercial sex workers on Isaac John and Toyin streets… Isaac John Street is where we have the Government House and it is a criminal offence to solicit for sex by roadside.” He then warned that the task force would extend its raids to Lagos Island, Ikoyi and Victoria Island where he said commercial sex activities had been on the increase.

7 simple ways to make your day better
How to make your day better 1: Wake up a few minutes earlier
How to make your day better 2: Make a happy list
Sometimes we dwell on the things that make us sad rather than concentrating on what makes us happy. It takes a little brain training to change your thought process from negative to positive, and a good way to do this is make a list of things that make you happy and keep referring to it every time you feel sad. Whether you want to write down your favourite quote from a movie, the date of a holiday you have booked, or you stick down a photograph of yourself on one of the happiest days of your life, it’s sure to lift your spirits when you’re feeling down in the dumps. Corny? Yes. Helpful? Most definitely.
How to make your day better 3: Sniff a lemon
Yep, you read that right. To improve your day, simply sniff a lemon. Scientists at Tel Aviv University suggest that citrus fragrances – particularly lemon – can alleviate depression and boost our mood. Indeed, the smell of a lemon boosts your levels of serotonin (a feel-good hormone) and lowers levels of norepinephrine (a stress hormone), so improve your day by burning a lemon scented candle or spritzing on a lemony fragrance, or you could just go all out and sniff a lemon.

How to make your day better 4: Cuddle someone
With the soaring popularity of the ‘cuddle party’ phenomenon, more and more people are discovering the benefits of a good snuggle. A warm embrace boosts the natural feel-good hormones released by the body, reduces stress, and creates a feeling of mutual trust. Beware though, whilst cuddling is a great mood-enhancer, we do recommend that you be selective over whom you choose to embrace; your boss or the window cleaner may not appreciate a cuddle as much as your spouse or your pet. If you prefer something a little less intimate, there’s nothing to stop you from expressing your feelings through a man hug (yes, this can be done by the ladies too), or maybe even a high-five to release those happy hormones.
How to make your day better 5: Sweat it out
Encourage your body’s natural feel good hormones to give your mood – and ultimately your day – a boost. Walk the dog, go for a run, or dance around the living room for half an hour; anything that gets your blood pumping and makes you sweat will do the trick. The endorphins released during exercise are scientifically proven to boost your mood, making any form of physical activity a sure-fire way to boost your day.
How to make your day better 6: Have a bath
Rather than that quick dash in and out of the shower, make some me-time and have a bubble bath and some time to work on your personal appearance. Our day always seems to go better when we look and feel our best, so gentlemen, have a shave and use a deep moisturising balm. Ladies, apply face and hair masks and paint your nails alongside your bath. It’s surprising how much a little me-time can perk up your day.
How to make your day better 7: Prioritise your tasks
A common reason for us to be having a bad day is stress. Having a long list of tasks to do can be overwhelming so tackle any problems head-on at the start of the day to get them out of the way as early as possible. Tackling your problems in the morning will eliminate feelings of worry throughout the rest of your day. A good way to prioritise your tasks is to write them all down and thennumber them from one to 10, with one being the most important, and 10 being the least important. Work your way through the tasks starting with the most important first, and tick them off as you go along. You will feel a sense of achievement each time you tick a task off.

'There is need to recognise widows like these and give them all the support they need at all times. This is why I have allowed the press in, not just to announce it, but so that people who are bigger, richer and more influential than me will hopefully emulate this on a much bigger scale because some people have things to give but don't know how to. I wish to thank Martini, Ify Okeke, Joy Sillo, president of his fan club (UFC) Oby Emeka, Pat Awele and Tonto Dikeh''.

GABBY DOUGLAS the New Face of Corn Flakes!
What do corn flakes, milk and Gabby Douglas have in common? They'll all be featured on Kelloggs cereal boxes this fall ... 'cause the Olympic champ just inked a major endorsement deal with the cereal company!
After sweeping the women's All-around gymnastics final and being the first African-American to win a gold medal in the category ... Gabby went on the "Today" show Friday and announced the major cereal deal.
The 16-year-old will be the face of Kelloggs Corn Flakes starting this fall, so every American can wake up feeling like a champ.
This is the first of many deals Gabby is likely to sign on to ... she made history with her gold medal and she's still young enough to compete in the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil ... which could mean many more deals to come.
Fun Fact: Kelloggs also tapped Michael Phelps to be on their boxes back in 2008 after he killed in in Beijing.
OCTOMOM Madonna Inspired Me to Go Topless
We can all thank Madonna for Octomom's topless album cover ... because the mother of 14 says the pop icon inspired her to bare it all for her music.
Octo is releasing a single with reality TV star Adam Barta -- but they've changed the title of the song from "Get on the Dance Floor" to "Sexy Party."
the cover art for "Sexy Party" is 100% Madonna inspired. We're told the pop singer's "Like a Virgin" style and need to sing about liberation struck a chord with Octo and she wanted to pay homage to that with her album art.
the crosses in the background, the rosary and even Octo baring her boobies (sans nipples) was all in honor of Madge.
Just in case you forgot, the single drops September 4... so there's still plenty of time to uninstall iTune

Obama’s Celebrates 51st birthday
Meanwhile the president enjoys his big day in private today, more public celebrations are on tap for next weekend. The president host an Aug.12 fundraiser at his house in Chicago. That plan has drawn catcalls from Republicans;
Obama cited today’s milestone during a Thursday speech in Florida, saying that “I’m going to be 51 on Saturday … 51. But Michelle says I look 50. … So that’s not bad.” The crowd serenaded Obama with a rendition of “Happy Birthday.” The president responded:
“Thank you … Now, if I had known you guys were going to sing, we would have had a cake. And then I would have blown out the candle, I would have made a wish that probably would have had to do with electoral votes. … A win in Florida wouldn’t be a bad birthday present.”

Bizarre News of the Day: Kanye West & Kim Kardashian Sued as Terrorists
But that’s not what Jonathan Lee Riches thinks. The man who loves to file lawsuits (he has filed more than 5,000 lawsuits in the past eight years) just filed his latest suit against rapper Kanye West and his new girlfriend, TV personality Kim Kardashian. In the lawsuit, Riches claims that aside from Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, Kim’s mother, Kris Jenner, her stepfather, Bruce Jenner, and her sisters, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian, are also “terrorists.” He wrote in the lawsuit:If you think Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have broken some fashion laws, you could be right, considering all the fur they’ve been wearing to prominent events and fashion mishaps like Kanye’s unzipped jeans, etc. However, believing that they are really criminals with affiliations to the high-profile terrorist group Al-Qaeda might be a little far-fetched.
“On 6/17/2012, I was in West Virginia, deep in the hills, and I stumbled upon the defendants who were all at an Al-Qaeda secret training camp.”
Among the allegations listed in the lawsuit, Riches claims the Kardashians and West pledged allegiance to Al-Qaeda, burned American flags, and stomped on Barack Obama’s picture. The lawsuit also claims that Kanye West is the new leader of a Chicago gang called The El-Rukns.
If it’s simply too much to take in, we think you should also know that Riches has received a title from the Guinness Book of World Records as “The World’s Most Litigious Man.” Go figure.
Any thoughts?
