Jay-Z Co-Executive Produces Sundance Film Festival Indie Project

Jay-Z has his hands in multiple deals and ventures at any given moment–his latest is project is an independent film entitled “An Oversimplification of Her Beauty,” an Official Selection at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival.

Besides Jay-Z, the film’s other executive producers include author/director dream hampton and Wyatt Cenac. Directed by Terence Nance, who also has a starring role, the film is touted as blurring “the line between narrative, documentary, and experimental film as it explores the fantasies, emotions, and memories that race through Terence’s mind as he examines and re-examines a singular moment in time.”

Elton John asks Lady Gaga to be godmother

(BangShowBiz) Los Angeles – Lady Gaga is godmother to both of Sir Elton John’s children.

The legendary singer and his husband David Furnish, 50, were so impressed with Gaga’s job as godmother to their firstborn son. two-year-old Zachary, that they have asked her to perform the same duties for Elijah who is three months old.
Elton, 65, told Extra:

“She’s a great role model, she’s young, [and] she’s been a great godmother to Zachary. We’re all bonkers in this business, but we’re human beings at the same time.”

‘I find it all enchanting’

The couple also revealed that having children has changed their lives in every way.

David said: “You learn so much about yourself and about life by seeing children,” while Elton added: “I love getting up in the morning and having breakfast with Zachary.

“Everything I thought I would find annoying about having children, like screaming and shouting and tantrums…I don’t find any of it annoying. I find it all enchanting.”

David has previously revealed how happy he is to have Lady Gaga guiding Zachary because he feels she has much to teach the youngster.

He said: “Zachary’s going to inherit an incredible musical legacy from his father one day, and she will be a good person to guide him through the ins and outs of the music business, ’cause she sure knows everything about the business now.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon renew their vows at Disneyland

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have said “I do” — again — this time in a ceremony fit for a fairy tale.

The couple celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary by renewing their vows Tuesday night at Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif., Entertainment Tonight reports.

According to ET, the couple had a birthday celebration for their 2-year-old twins, son Morrocan and daughter Monroe, at a prince and princess-themed party prior to the ceremony, with Disney princesses and Mickey and Minnie Mouse among the attendees.

Carey shared a family photo from the celebrations on Twitter:

The singer/”American Idol” judge wore a princess-inspired bridal gown for the couple’s vow renewal, which took place in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. She and her daughter traveled by horse-drawn carriage to the ceremony, where they were met by Cannon and their son, both dressed as princes.

Following the ceremony — which was themed “Do you believe in fairy tales?” — guests were treated to a fireworks display and a reception deejayed by Cannon in the park’s Fantasyland section. ET reports that the space was adorned with 15,000 flowers imported from South Africa, Holland and France, and 10,000 crystals. Guests also were able to ride the Matterhorn Bobsled rollercoaster and enjoy other attractions while the park was closed to the public.

Carey and Cannon married on April 30, 2008, in the Bahamas. Their twins were born on that same day in 2011

Popular Nollywood actor, Babatunde Omidina a.k.a Baba Suwe has made his first big appearance in the music industry.

Baba Suwe was featured in Samkelfs’ new “Suwe“ remix video shot last weekend.

The singer and producer also featured in the video, his wife, Ynnove and Yoruba rap powerhouse Olamide.

The video, which is set to be released next week was self-directed by Samklef, and photography was packaged by Unlimited L.A.

Banky W Maintains His #1 Spot On MTV Base Official Naija Top 10

Banky W continues to retain the number one slot as the “Yes/No” vocalist enters his second week at the top of the chart.
Closing in on Banky W is Phyno feat. Olamide with “Ghostmode” which moves from number three to number two position, after a slow but steady climb up the chart.

Other climbers this week include Tiwa Savage’s “Without My Heart” – up one place to number five and “Asiko” from Darey featuring Ice Prince & Jozi, now settled at the number six position.

After two weeks at number 10, Davido’s “Gobe” also shows positive form, heading upwards and gaining two places to end the week at number 8.

Katung Brings An All-White Crew For “Heaven’s Hell”, Says “I’m Raising The Bar”

The first and only Big Brother Nigeria winner Katung “Direktah” Aduwak has managed to drive one of the most sophisticated movie shoots in Africa leading an all-white production crew to Nigeria to work on his anticipated movie, Heaven’s Hell.

His cast comprises some of  Nigeria’s best including Bimbo Akintola, OC Ukeje, Nse Ikpe Etim, and South Africa based actor, Fabian Lojede of the series, Jacob’s Cross with his Director of Photography as Jeffrey Smith who has worked with international stars like Rihanna, Fergie, Al Pacino, Michelle Pfeiffer and handled productions of mega TV shows like American Idol.
  
Speaking on the production, Katung says;
“I’m so proud to be working with the team I have. It’s an amazing ensemble. Getting all of these wonderful actors whose works I have admired through the years is a dream come true. Casting is 80% of your work as a director. Don’t cast anyone you cannot connect with. I’ve refused to typecast my actors; you’ll be seeing them in different and refreshing ways in Heaven’s Hell.”

Katung, after Big Brother became the brand ambassador for Harp, and also for Glo for a period of 12 months consecutively. He is also a partner at Chocolate City, one of Nigeria’s finest music brands.
