Face Of Peace Pageant 2013 Begins
After the huge success that heralded the maiden edition of the beauty pageant, Face of Peace (FOPA), the organisers, Blumoon Imaginationz has announced the commencement of the 2013 edition with the opening for sales of form.
The grand finale of the maiden edition of the pageant took place at Oriental Hotel, Lagos last year with Uti Uwachukwu and Matse of Nigerian Info as host. Zimuzo Benson, a Pschycology graduate from University of Nigeria, Nsukka emerged the winner; pocketing $10 000 and a car.
Chioma Precious, an undergraduate from Nnamidi Azikwe University emerged the first runner-up. She got $5000, trip to Ghana, and 42 inches plasma TV while Amuche Arjuh from Nnamdi Azikwe University emerged the second runner up.
This year, the organiser is planning to host the show outside Lagos and have concluded plans to have contestants from UK and other African countries. There will be audition in UK and other African countries, selected contestants from these countries will join the contestants in Nigeria to slug it out for the crown comes November 16.

The Central Working Committee for The Future Awards, which is going Africa-wide this season, has announced that nominations for the 8th season comes to a close come Tuesday, June 18, 2013.
"Nominations for The Future Awards Season 8 has been open for about a month and so far we have received thousands of entries from young and inspiring Nigerians with amazing innovations and works," said Chude Jideonwo, who is executive director of The Future Project. "Following our calendar, our board of highly experienced judges are going to undergo sessions of intense decision making to certify persons who will make it into the nominations list that will be published in June."

Three new faces join The Chase
The Chase is on and as the show heats up, three new faces have joined the latest season of Big Brother Africa, which is headline sponsored by Airtel.
The trio will help keep DStv viewers up to date with the latest happenings on the show, and keep track of the growing online frenzy. Viewers got to meet Boity Thulo and Tumi Morake on Sunday’s first live show, while David Kibuuka joins the team later in the season, to add his own comic twist.
About Boity Thulo
Model and actor Boity Thulo is the ‘IT Guru’ on segments featured each Sunday, keeping viewers up to speed with Big Brother’s online elements. She’ll also contribute to Good Morning Africa, Star Gist and 53 Extra, making sure that Big Brother fans stay up to date with anything Chase-related happening on the website, mobile and social media networks.
Born and raised in Potchefstroom, this 22 year old beauty who describes herself as “a legend in the making” has quickly made her mark in the South African entertainment industry. Boity has appeared on a host of TV shows and acted as an MC for a number of prestigious events. She also has an impressive modelling portfolio to back her up and is a recognisable face, from her appearances in a number of TV ads.
Stand-up comic, MC, scriptwriter and speaker Tumi Morake will host Big Brother Hot Room, a weekly show on AfricaMagic Entertainment after each Sunday’s live eviction show. The Finance Honours graduate has a unique brand of humour that combines wit and intellect without losing touch with his audiences. David broke into the comedy world when he won a nationwide comedy talent search competition on a radio station in South Africa and he hasn't looked back since. He’s opened for some of the world’s top stand-up comics and starred in a number of films, including the hit Bunny Chow and stand-out TV series The Pure Monate Show.

A Canadian model claims rapper Kanye West cheated on pregnant girlfriend Kim Kardashian after they met at one of his shows. Leyla Ghobadi, 24, told America's Star magazine that their fling started in July 2012 and continued even after Kim had announced her pregnancy after Kanye dismissed his relationship with the reality star as just 'for publicity and nothing serious'.
Kim camp first denied the claims followed by Kanye West who said through his rep.

Ten Ways To Be A True Lagos ‘Fashionista YES OR NO
A month ago a friend of mine moved to Nigeria from “obodoyibo” (America to be specific) and I decided to take her around Las Gidi. After a while, I noticed she was becoming less interested in our outings. What kind of Yankee duller is this babe I thought, so one day I decided to confront her. My friend is a very beautiful lady; most men would look at her twice if she walks past. However, she told me she always felt under dressed each time we went out. I laughed so hard and realized that our Lagos “fashionistas” have most likely tensioned her closet. At this point, with my “tongue in cheek” I decided to enlighten her by giving 10 tips on how to become a Lagos fashionista from head to toe.
Hair: To be a true Lagos fashionista, you have to be a member of team weave from any continent apart from Africa. You must purchase several bundles and the weave ought to be at least 18inches long. If for any reason your natural hair needs to be out, (this must not happen too often by the way), it should ONLY be packed up into a bun that’s at least 10cms high.
Eyebrows: Any makeup artist would tell you that the eyebrows are the most important facial feature. As afashionista you have to accentuate your eyebrows by making them as thick as possible and draw them like an upside down Nike sign.
Eyes: How else are you going to draw attention to yourself if your eyes don’t speak volumes? Your eye makeup needs to be very dramatic. This can only be done by making use of many colours of eyeshadow at the same time. Don’t forget to stick on false lashes that are long enough to touch your eyebrows.
Lips: Let your lips do the talking without saying a word! Use only very bright colours like red, pink, purple, orange and plum. If you do not want to diversify, just stick to a MAC Ruby Woo and call it a day. Please DON’T forget to pout.
Skin tone: It’s unfortunate but fashionistas are not supposed to be dark in complexion. If you are not naturally fair you have to make use of chemical peels, lightening and bleaching creams. If you are lucky enough to be light in complexion, you had better maintain it and avoid the sun as much as possible. If the air conditioning in your boyfriend’s car is faulty….dump him.
Clothes: This in itself is a topic on its own. All I can say is whatever a fashionista is putting on MUST have some element of colour blocking. For example you can combine a yellow top with a purple skirt and carry a green hand bag!
Shoes: Thou shall not be caught wearing flat shoes. If your shoes are not at least 6 inches, high dispose of it. The accepted standard is any high heeled shoe with a red sole as it can easily pass as designed by Christian Louboutin.
Manicure & Pedicure: As a fashionista, every part of you needs to be colourful and loud. Therefore, nobody is supposed to see your nails without some colour. It is also important to make sure your fingernails are very long like a lion’s claw.
Accessories: Over accessorizing does not exist in a Lagos fashionista’s rule book. Your outfit is never complete without a huge statement necklace (at least 0.2 kg); heavy bracelets aka ‘arm candy’, gigantic chandelier ear rings, Michael Kors wrist watch (fake or real) and a collection of “vintage” rings. Also,fashionistas do not carry handbags that are not from a high end label.
Mobile Phones: To complete your Lagos fashionista look, you must be in possession of at least two phones. One must be a blackberry (Bold 5 and above) and the other should be an iPhone or Samsung galaxy phone. The Blackberry is supposed to help you look busy as you ping away because a fashionista is not supposed to be idle. The iPhone and Samsung is for you to post your look of the day on Instagram for your “fans” to like and learn.

This week, once again, Angola’s Biguesas was put up for eviction. Joining him from the Diamond house is Kenya’s Annabel who was swapped by the Head of House, Nigeria’s Melvin in the place of Sierra Leone’sBolt. This is the second week that Bolt has been saved from eviction.
And, in the Ruby House, Zimbabwe’s Pokello and ‘Mama Africa’ Malawian Natasha join the possible evictees. Botswana’s housemate, O’Neal who was up on the chopping block was saved by the Ruby Head of House, Ghanaian Selly who put up the ‘under the radar’ Angolan housemate, Neyll in his place.
