Simon Cowell’s X-Factor set to launch in Nigeria
If reports are anything to go by, then Simon Cowell’s X-Factor, is poised to make its entry into Nigeria. The West African nation already boasts of a number of music reality shows like Nigeria Idol, Project Fame West Africa, Naija Sings, etc but Cowell’s show is a big hit outside these shores

The television music competition franchise is set to launch in Nigeria in a few months, according to insiders.NET investigations have revealed that the brain behind this venture is none other than Rotimi Pedro, CEO of Optima Media Group (OMG). In 2011, OMG brought their first reality show franchise ‘Nigerian Idol’ (the local version of the Idol franchise), and in the following year, birthed the ‘Nigeria’s Got Talent’ show.Insiders have confirmed ‘The X-Factor’ will be here pretty soon, but other details like the show’s judges and host, have not been decided. It is also uncertain which brand is picking the bills

See 2Face Idibia, Vector, Sound Sultan & Ikechukwu playing Basketball! Photos from the 2012 “Mark D Ball” Basketball Tournament in Benue State
Otukpo town in Benue State played host once again to an ever growing youth inspired, and youth motivated basketball tournament in December 2012 at the annual Mark D Ball Basketball Tournament. The tournament had both female and male teams come from around Nigeria to compete with each other.
The sports festival, as some might call it, was patronized by famous names from the Nigerian entertainment industry such as 2Face Idibia, himself a native of Idoma land (Benue State), Sound Sultan, Ikechukwu andVector. From the sporting sector, veterans of the Nigerian National BasketBall team, such as ten-time captain,Tunji Awojobi, John Allagh, Osita Nwachukwu, amongst many other notable names were present. NBA draftEjike Ugboaja of the Cleveland Cavaliers, brought some international experience to the field; he was named the MVP of the tournament.
Also in attendance were some dignitaries such as the Senate President, David Mark; Federal Minister of interior,Abba Moro and Bongos Ikwue – whose chain of Double K hotels acted as the largest hospitality provider for the tournament.
Igoche Mark, a special assistant and younger brother to the Senate President is the brain behind the initiative. According to the organisers, the 12th edition of Mark D Ball was “definitely a success with side attractions such as a Miss Idoma Beauty Pageant and parties organized by RedBox Inc“. They promise an improved and bigger 13th edition.
In the Ladies’ category, the Dolphins of Lagos took home the trophy, and for the men, it was the Blame It On Experience (BIOE) team that took the trophy.

Grammy Award winner, Maxwell to perform in Nigeria this Valentine
Grammy Award-winning Funk and Neo Soul artiste, Maxwell, will be in Nigeria this February for a Valentine concert.
The 39-year-old will be performing two days after Valentine in Lagos, thanks to Classic FM.
Maxwell himself has confirmed via his Twitter account that he will be in the country. His tweet read: “Hello Nigeria 2 days after Valentine’s Day #YouNMe#WWWU #Summers”.
However, the organisers are yet to make a formal announcement, as they tie up loose ends.

The 26 year old artiste and yummy mother of 1, who reportedly styled herself for the event, rocked the outfit with her signature hair and a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti tan booties. She also kept her make-up simple with nude lips.

What’s not to love about Tiwa Savage. She’s talented, fun and yes, a style star. At the FAB Night Out 2012 held on Sunday 2nd December 2012 at the Landmark Village, Lagos, the Kele Kele Love star, arrived on the black carpet in the same dress.
The 32 year old chanteuse pulled her hair back and opted for luscious pink lips. She accessorized the frock with drop silver earrings, a gold bracelet and metal ankle-cuff 4 inches leather sandals by Esteban Cortazar.

Today, we have two stylish ladies rocking a yellow silk retro print blouse and matching geometric pencil skirt by high street fashion brand, H&M. It’s our BellaNaija Style regular, Solange Knowles and Nigerian fashion blogger and stylist, Kike Soyode of StyleByQueens battling it out for your fave.
Just before you pick your favourite, here are the similarities of their looks;
- They both added a pop of color to their looks by opting for bright coloured lipsticks – Solange wears red and Kike wears pink
- They both have on a pair of colour block heels
- They are both involved in fashion – Solange is the face of Madewell and Kike is a stylist and blogger of all things fashion

In November 2012, the 26 year old rocked this outfit at the opening of the new H&M store in the Santa Fe district of Mexico City. Solange, who was a guest DJ at the event, accessorized her retro ensemble with a pair of $740 Fendi color block grosgrain sandals from the Italian label’s Spring/Summer 2011 collection. She finished her look for the evening with minimal make-up, red nail polish and her signature hair.
