The Ones is a group of individual, that consists of Petra, and Landan Balla as artists. They have released a new, feel good track entitled ”Original”. It’s their debut single under their new project “The Ones”.

The Ones is a group of individual, that consists of Petra, and Landan Balla as artists. They have released a new, feel good track entitled ”Original”. It’s their debut single under their new project “The Ones”.


They have produced a catchy, sing along tune, which is infused with all types of genres such as Rap, R&B, Dancehall, and Jazz. This unique sound has captured the hearts, and minds of listeners.


The song is written, and performed by The Ones, and was produced by MG Studios. The video was shot, and directed by Kevin Bosco Jnr of Headmasters production. It showcases the African culture in a modern, and creative way, from the dress code to the lyrics “it’s all about keeping it 100% original” says Petra. “The video is really unique, and interesting to watch, with a very simple, and easy to understand story line” adds Landan. The song also comes with a saxo-heavy instrumental, played by the legendary Juma Tutu.

Petra is a Kenyan rapper based in Nairobi, originally from Mombasa city. She is well known for her versatile rapping skills. She has done several collaborations with various artists both national, and international i.e “Ligi soo remix”, “The Ones”, “Eish” and a track with Joh Makini, which is to be released this year. She is currently working with her bandmate Landan Balla on some projects, with international producers, set to be released later in the year.


Landan Balla is a Kenyan born artist and entrepreneur from the United Kingdom. He has worked with various African artists from Europe on a few singles. He has featured in a couple of projects last year, propelled by the HourGlass254 management. He is one of the founders of the entertainment company ‘HourGlass254”, which deals with Music, Fashion, and entertainment.
