RIDE FOR THE BLIND SET TO KICK OFF

The world we live in is fast evolving and the earlier people realise that blind people can be productive the better.
Being blind should never be a reason for anyone not to be successful. There are so many talented and hardworking people in our society today whose only limitation is blindness, and this limitation has stopped them from going ahead with their dreams.
The Discovery Quest is an initiative that is focused on creating a social dialogue around blindness with a focus on the challenges the blind people in our immediate society face.

The Discovery Quest will begin with a campaign themed; ‘Ride for the blind’. This would feature a bike ride from Lagos to Calabar as the team would be visiting schools for the blind in other cities (Ibadan, Benin and Calabar).
Riding a motorcycle is seen as something a blind person cannot do safely, hence the concept of using impossibility to create possibilities for the blind. During the visits to the other schools for the blind there would be interviews documenting the challenges the average blind Nigerian faces everyday so as to help with finding a lasting solution to the challenges.
The campaign also seeks to support raising funds to provide a software coding Laboratory for the Federal Nigeria Society for the Blind.

The Discovery Quest team would also feature and showcase what a few blind people have been able to achieve despite their environment.

The take off date for the ‘Ride for the Blind’ campaign is Wednesday, December 26, 2018 and the Return trip will take place on Saturday, December 29, 2018.
All activities of the campaign would be shared across all social media platforms with the hash tags #BikeRideForTheBlind  #TheDiscoveryQuest and #OpenDoorsForTheBlind.

To be a part of this incredible journey, follow @thediscoveryquest across all social media platforms.
