I'll Take My Chances'  the much anticipated block buster, is premiering in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on September 24th 2011! 

The movie which stars talented actress, Ini Edo and hot new heartthrob Bryan Okwara and lovely dance sensation, Ashleigh Clark is being premiered in Uyo for the world to see.  The movie which was shot in early February has been in post production is finally ready to be revealed to the world. The movie features a stellar cast that includes a retinue of dancers, as well as respected actor Jide Kosoko, Lilian Ikpe, Biola Williams and the late Sam Efe Loco in a spectacular tale that involves drama, suspense, dance and love.  The movie was produced by Emem Isong & Ini Edo and directed by Desmond Elliot. 

According to Emem Isong, co-producer of the film, 'We decided to premiere the movie in Uyo as a show of solidarity with the good people of Akwa Ibom because most of the film was shot there and depicts culture from that area. We also received much support while shooting so it will be great for them to see it first. September also happens to be the month Akwa Ibom state was created so I think its very apt for it to be shown during that period.   It is poignant for me to release this film because this is possibly one of the last most recent films acted by Uncle Sam and he was outstanding in  his performance! The film is infact dedicated to him'.

A youth corper waz raped by four gang men in Kano!

KANO - TWO weeks after the uproar over the reported gang-raping of a student of Abia State University by five hoodlums, the police in Kano State, yesterday, paraded two of the four men who allegedly gang-raped a youth corps member.

One of the suspects has confessed to having allegedly taken part in ''gang-raping'' the youth corps member with two others now at large.

The suspects who identified themselves as Abba Garba, 18, Abubakar Suleiman, 17, Nazeephy Malam, and Ali Wara said yesterday they raped the youth corps member serving at Durumi Secondary School, Kurna in Kano municipality.

Garba, who reportedly led three others to rape the lady, told Vanguard at the Kano State Police Headquarters, that the incident occurred penultimate week in a classroom in the college at noon when the victim who was unaware of the strike by civil servants in the state reported for duties.

Garba said they were in the building because of the torrential rain on the fateful day when the lady in her 20s who spoke her native language which they did not understand, suddenly approached them to enquire why there were no activities in the school.

Suspect confesses
The suspect, who claimed to be a battery charger in the area, further told Vanguard that: ''I relocated to the premises of the college with my friends when it started raining on that fateful day. While we were having fun, a lady suddenly approached us and was speaking a language none of us understood.

''I was moved by her beauty, and immediately drew out a sharp knife and in concert with others commandeered her into one of the classrooms, where we forced her to undress and gang-raped her in turns before policemen on patrol apprehended two of us while two escaped.''

The second suspect, Abubakar, said: ''I never violated the lady in question, but was roped in by my friend, Abba Garba, who lured me to the school premises, where the ugly incident happened.''

The state Police Commissioner, Ibrahim Idris, declined to disclose the identity of the victim ''to avoid stigmatisation,'' pointing out that two other suspects were also apprehended by the police in connection with raping minors in the city.

Meanwhile, the Abia State Police Command has also confirmed that it arrested two members of the gang that raped the university student in the state, few days after the state government described the incident as fiction.

Smirnoff staged the coolest party ever last Friday. When I say the coolest, I mean the coolest. This is the brand that brought Destination Ice at MMA2 in 2009 and also brought Miami to Lagos last year.
On Friday 23rd of September, Smirnoff did it again. They held a circus on a boat cruise, the first of its kind.

Rap star Ikechukwu was the ring master, DJ Jimmy Jatt was the DJ for the night. Venue was The Prest Boat at Lekki, which was packed with excited guests who had the time of their lives.

The event was the official launch of Smirnoff Midnight Circus, which is a series of parties that will begin in November and will hold in several states. I hear the parties will be off the hook and nothing like we've ever seen before. I will be giving out tickets to the parties on this blog. So stay tuned!

One of Naija's finest comedians, Basket mouth indeed loves automobiles. The comedian, who already has fleet of cars in his Lekki home, added another one on Sunday, 18th of September. He drove into Bola Shadipe, off Adelabu Street, in Surulere with his driver in a Sequoia Jeep. Without wasting time, Basket took delivery of his new ride, a 2008 Cherokee Jeep from the seller, with him taking few pictures in between with neighbours who came out to show him love. A mother was working in the kitchen, listening to her seven-year-old son playing with his new electric train in the living room.
She heard the train stop & her son saying:

"All of you bastards who want off, get the hell off now, 'cause this is the last stop! And all of you bastards ... who are getting on, get your ass in the train, cause we're going down the tracks."

Is this now the norm, should we get used to it? How can these acts of violence against women happen in our schools, our society and nothing is done about it?

In this 13mins video, three girls are dehumanized and tortured by guys because the guys allegedly heard them having lesbian sex. The boys not only made the girls touch, kiss and literarily have oral sex with each other, they also laid them on the floor and flogged them like animals.

My heart bleeds that these things are happening to our young women and not much is done about it. This has got to stop.

'Parents are dressing their children as adults if they are putting them in high heels. I wouldn't consider it appropriate. We all wore our mother's heels which is fine.

'Putting children in adult clothing can sexualise them and make them grow up before their time. Also if you put a young child in heels then they are not able to swing on swings and skip, and other things children naturally do.'

Walk Against Rape/Violence Against Women

On Wednesday, October 5, 2011, Enough is Enough Nigeria, Project Alert, Rubies Ink, Delta Women, National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) along with several other civil society organizations and individuals will walk in several cities around Nigeria to raise awareness about violence against women in Nigeria, and in particular, demand action on the gang-rape of a young lady by five young men alleged to be students of Abia State University (ABSU).

The walk will take place in the following cities:
Abia: Walk will commence at the Okpara square in Umuahia, Abia state and conclude at the state house.
Lagos: Protest will hold at the Abia State Liaison Office in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Abuja : Protesters will converge at The Eagle Square

Corper attacked with acid, ex-boyfriend attacker still roaming free!

Her name is Onyinye Blessing Agu and in February this year, an ex-boyfriend poured acid on her for ending their relationship two months earlier.

Onyinye was a corper, serving in Badagry West LCDA in Lagos State when the unfortunate incident happened to her.

The victim  became a born again christian, decided to live a new life and didn't think being in a relationship was appropriate, so she ended the relationship she was in with Ifeanyi Collins Ude in December 2010. Two months later, Ifeanyi, who's based in Enugu came to Lagos to visit Onyinye, with evil intentions.

As Onyinye was seeing off her once abusive boyfriend, Ifeanyi brought out a container from the plastic bag he was carrying, poured acid on Onyinye, and ran off.

Nollywood producer Donald Okoli dies

Another death in Nollywood. Top writer and producer, Donald Okoli has passed away. The producer, who was in his forties, died this morning...in his sleep.

Before his death, he'd produced several movies, including "Family Battle" which won an AMAA Award. May his soul rest in peace...amen!

A few months ago someone I know also died in his sleep. He was 41. How do you die in your sleep? Can anyone explain what causes death while sleeping?

A hired killer fell in love with his victim then faked her death with the help of some tomato ketchup. Hitman Carlos Roberto de Jesus, from Brazil, was paid £345 to murder Iranildes Aguiar Araujo.

He was contracted by housewife Maria Nilza Simoes, who was convinced Iranildes was having an affair with her husband.

But when de Jesus saw his intended victim he fell head over heels in love with her and confessed the plot. The pair then conjured up a plan to fool his employer into believing he had carried out the hit.
