Smirnoff staged the coolest party ever last Friday. When I say the coolest, I mean the coolest. This is the brand that brought Destination Ice at MMA2 in 2009 and also brought Miami to Lagos last year.
On Friday 23rd of September, Smirnoff did it again. They held a circus on a boat cruise, the first of its kind.

Rap star Ikechukwu was the ring master, DJ Jimmy Jatt was the DJ for the night. Venue was The Prest Boat at Lekki, which was packed with excited guests who had the time of their lives.

The event was the official launch of Smirnoff Midnight Circus, which is a series of parties that will begin in November and will hold in several states. I hear the parties will be off the hook and nothing like we've ever seen before. I will be giving out tickets to the parties on this blog. So stay tuned!

Basket Mouth Buys Cherokee Jeep

One of Naija's finest comedians, Basket mouth indeed loves automobiles. The comedian, who already has fleet of cars in his Lekki home, added another one on Sunday, 18th of September. He drove into Bola Shadipe, off Adelabu Street, in Surulere with his driver in a Sequoia Jeep. Without wasting time, Basket took delivery of his new ride, a 2008 Cherokee Jeep from the seller, with him taking few pictures in between with neighbours who came out to show him love. But the guy disappointed some of his fans when he refused to settle some of them who asked him for little cash. He says, 'ha sorry, I no hold money'. Here's wishing him a safe ride with it, good times are surely here again.

The show, which was tagged Sirens of the Nile was attended by Keisha Buchanan, Liz Yemoja, and Ngozi Pere-Okotie amongst others.

A mother was working in the kitchen, listening to her seven-year-old son playing with his new electric train in the living room.
She heard the train stop & her son saying:

"All of you bastards who want off, get the hell off now, 'cause this is the last stop! And all of you bastards ... who are getting on, get your ass in the train, cause we're going down the tracks."

The horrified mother went in & told her son: "We don't use that kind of language in this house. Now I want you to go to your room & stay there for TWO HOURS. When you come out, you may play with your train, but I want you to use nice language."

Two hours later, the son came out of the bedroom & resumed playing with his train. Soon the train stopped & the mother heard her son say:
"All passengers who are disembarking the train, please remember to take all of your belongings with you. We thank you for traveling with us today & hope your trip was a pleasant one."

She hears the little boy continue: "For those of you just boarding, we ask you to stow all of your hand luggage under your seat. Remember, there is no smoking on the train. We hope you will have a pleasant and relaxing journey with us today."
As the mother began to smile, the child added: "For those of you who are pissed off about the TWO HOUR delay, please see the bitch in the kitchen.

Ama Annan, the first daughter of former UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan, will be getting married this week in Ghana. The 42 year old Financial Analyst and business woman is set to wed Adepoju Adedeji in a 3-day event that will start on Thursday 29th of Sept till Saturday 1st of October. 40 year old Poju is a divorcee with three kids and the son of Professor Adebayo Adedeji, the Executive Director of the African Center for Development & Strategic Studies (ACDESS).

Ama's mum is Titilola Alakija, Kofi Annan's first wife. The two divorced in the 80's.

Man beats wife to a pulp; claims she came at him with a knife

Her name is Eunice Becker Okwueto, a mother of two, and her husband Emmanuel Okwueto beat her so bad she sustained severe injuries to the head, lacerations, and a dislocated jaw. She is currently undergoing treatment. The husband claims she came at him with a hammer and knife and he also has a broken arm, cuts and bruises which he received from her on the day of the fight.

What's going on in this country? Why do some men think they can violate women at will? Why are they so confident to not only commit the crime, but also film it? Is this now the norm, should we get used to it? How can these acts of violence against women happen in our schools, our society and nothing is done about it?

In this 13mins video, three girls are dehumanized and tortured by guys because the guys allegedly heard them having lesbian sex. The boys not only made the girls touch, kiss and literarily have oral sex with each other, they also laid them on the floor and flogged them like animals.

My heart bleeds that these things are happening to our young women and not much is done about it. This has got to stop.
