Kwankwaso Ratifies Malaysian as Vice Chancellor of N’West University, Kano


Kano State government has ratified the appointment of Professor Dato Dr. Mohammed Razali Bin Agus as the substantive Vice Chancellor of the North West University, established by the government of Kano state.
Professor Bin Agus was until recently, the Vice Chancellor/Chief Executive, Twintech International College of Technology, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Also appointed are Faruk M. ‘Yanganau, Registrar, Sunusi Nassarawa, Librarian while Yusuf Isa is to serve as the University Bursar.
Receiving the new principal officers in his officers, the state Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso charged them to be steadfast in nurturing the university into an enviable model in Nigeria and beyond.
Governor Kwankwaso said although the task of managing a new tertiary institution is a challenging responsibility, he was confident that principal officers will live up to expectation taking into consideration their antecedents.
He thanked the chairman and members of the implementation of the university for a job well done, hoping that they will continue to work hand in hand with its new management to achieve the desired goals.
In his remarks, the chairman of the Implementation Committee of the University, Professor Hafiz Abubakar told the government that all the principal officers were recruited after painstaking assessments and interviews, assuring that with men of their calibre, the university will commence its activities on a sound footing.
On his part, Professor Dato Dr. Mohammed Razali Bin Agus, who spoke on behalf of his colleagues promised to work diligently towards growth of the university and the development of education in the state.

The former Central Bank Governor, Mr  Ola Vincent,  is dead. He died Monday at  St.  Nicholas Hospital, Lagos.
Ola Vincent, an economist and  CBN Governor from 1977 to 1982 was born  May 16, 1925.

The Channel O Music Video Awards will be talking place on November 19, 2012 and organizers have announced this year’s nominees.
13 Nigerian artistes recieve nods, including pop singers 2face, D’banj, Psquare, Wizkid, Wande Coal, Davido, Mo’Cheddah, Brymo, and Orezi. Higlife singer Flavour, R&B diva Tiwa Savage and rappers Naeto C and Ice Prince are also up for nominations.

Kenyan pop group Camp Mulla who have had a fantastic run in the last year lead the list with four nominations – in the ‘Most Gifted East African video of the Year’, ‘Most Gifted Newcomer video of the Year’, ‘Most Gifted Video of the Year’, and ‘Most Gifted Group/Duo’.
D’banj, Brmyo, Ice Prince and Davido are nominated twice.  D’banj and Brymo are however the only two Nigerian acts to make the ‘Most Gifted Video of the Year’ category.

The awards, now in its ninth edition will hold at in Kliptown, Soweto, Johannesburg, South Africa

EME’s Wizkid took home two plaques yesterday, at the Nigerian Entertainment Awards (NEA)
