In its quest to inspire a generation of women to do greater things in diverse fields of endeavour, Y!/YNaija.com, in partnership with Leading Ladies Africa project brings you Nigeria’s 100 Most Influential Women – #YWomen100.

These are the ladies who steer the course of history in a usually male dominated environment – they have acknowledged the glass ceiling but they would not allow it hold down their lofty ambitions.

In commemoration of International Women’s Day, we present to you, in particular order, the #YWomen100.

Abike Dabiri-Erewa: After an enviable career as a broadcast journalist in NTA, particularly with human angle stories on Newsline, Abike extended her frontiers to what has been a very successful stint in politics. We still expect to see/hear more from her in the future.

Adesuwa Oyenokwe: With over 30 years experience in journalism, Adesuwa has run the entire gamut and is still re-inventing herself. From Today’s Woman and One-on-One on NTA, to being the Publisher of TW Magazine, and now hosting ‘Seriously Speaking,’ she proves that there is always room to evolve.

 Admiral Itunu Hotonu: Smart, articulate and very intelligent, Admiral Hotonu is the first woman to attain the rank of Rear Admiral (a two-star General), in the Nigerian Navy.

 Agatha Amata: Many will recognize her hugely popular talk-show ‘Inside-out.’ A consummate media entrepreneur, she recently launched Rave TV, and is spreading her tentacles.

Agbani Darego: Former Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, and the first black Miss World, Agbani has become a successful entrepreneur with the launch of her AD by Agbani Darego retail clothing line.

Ainehi Edoro: Deeply interested in African literature, Ainehi is the editor of Brittlepaper, an online platform dedicated to promoting and shaping the way African literary works are produced, appraised and consumed.

 Alima Atta: One of the very few women to run a successful PR consultancy till date, Alima is the Founder of Sesema PR, one of the longest-running PR Consultancies in Nigeria. Her company has spear-headed perception management campaigns for an impressive list of local and international clients.

 Amina Oyagbola: A top HR Executive at MTN Nigeria, she’s also the Founder of WISCAR (Women in Successful Careers) a not-for-profit, gender empowerment and mentoring initiative for professional career women.

Arese Ugwu: Arese is the founder of a personal finance blog http://smartmoneywitharese.com/about-arese/, a platform that provides high quality content and action tools tailored to Africans. She makes finance easy to understand and less complicated.

Arunma Oteh: Arunma was until very recently, the Director General of Nigeria’s Securities and Exchange Commission. In 2014, she was named West African Business Woman of the Year by CNBC at the Africa All Africa Business Leaders Awards.

Banke Meshida-Lawal: If you want to have your makep done by Banke, you probably have to book a year in advance. One of the pioneer makeup artists in Nigeria, Banke is the CEO of BMPRO makeup, and also has a cosmetic make-up range with the same name. She has shown that one can have a thriving career through make-up.

Top Nigerian Celebrities have joined the campaign for internally displaced persons under the initiative, The Angel Relief Fund by award winning singer/humanitarian, Nikki Laoye's Angel 4 Life Foundation.  

Speaking out for a better Nigeria and soliciting for more support for displaced men, women and children in the North, each celebrity shares a few words of their own on specially designed pictures released by the foundation which is shared on their social media platforms to create futher awareness amongst their fan network. They also support the relief fund with personal donations. 

Some of the celebrities include Seyi Shay, Niyola, Emma Nyra, Yemi Alade, Kiki Omeili, Anny Ibrahim, Timi Dakolo, Monique, Sammie Okposo, Joe Praize, Mike Abdul, Onos, Gaise Baba, Praiseworld Radio, Capital F.E.M.I, Do2Dtun of Cool FM, Titi Oyinsan of Inspiration FM and many more.

Nikki Laoye is the Ambassador/Celebrity Voice of Refugees & Internally Displaced Persons for NCFRMI Southwest (National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons and she has set up the initiative in line with her duties as a voice for these persons of concern.

#TheAngelReliefFund is an awareness fund raising campaign to synthesize the public about the situation in Northern Nigeria and also get more involvement and donations from the society towards their needs. All Donations will be used to provide food, medical supplies, care and support for internally displaced persons at different IDP camps across the nation.

Nneka stopped for the quick media showcase of her new Album with Factory78 in London "MY FAIRY TALES" She talked about what inspired her making the album and the Nigerian presidential election being postponed. 

She has collaborated and toured with Nas, Ziggy and Damian Marley, Nas and Lenny Kravitz.

Industry Nite - May D Sets Stage On Fire With Spectacular Performance

This weeks' edition was headlined by the talented and energetic pop singer May D and hosted by Jimmie and DJ Spinall. The award winning DJ Spinall also premiered his brand new video 'Oluwa' featuring M.I, and Bymo.

May D kicked off the show with his verse from Psquare's hit track 'Chop My Money' after which he performed his own lewd cover of the popular hit track 'Woju' by Kiss Daniel. Jude Okoye was also there to support May D(his former act). 

May D performed some of his hit tracks including 'Soundtrack', 'So Many Tinz', 'Gat Me High', 'Get Down' and 'Happiness'(his collaboration with South African group Mafikizolo)

He ended the show with a mind blowing performance of popular track 'Ilejo' and his current single 'Ibadi'.

#TeamBuhari, however had Akintunde Oyebode (@AO1379), Ismail Ahmed, Chairman, APC Youth Forum and Ikem Isiekwene of Act Now Nigeria.

The debate centered on security, economy, clamour for change, resolve for continuity, among others.

The interesting debate was facilitated to enable voters know the core issues that should determine their voting pattern at the polls.

This was during a tweetchat with Award winning presenter Tosin Adekeye (@cutekimani) using the hashtag #KimaniOffAir.
Cynthia Morgan who is an only child and a cologne freak said she will rather be in Lagos traffic than open a refrigerator without food.

Social media week 2015 was a great success and one of the most exciting and successful events were the Master class session “The Blogger, The Law and the Brand”. The session which was hosted by award winning blogger Olorisupergal and Foza (an entertainment and media lawyer), held on the 26th of February, 2015.

The session had the best of the crop to speak to the room filled audience from the blogosphere, the legal arena, the traditional media amongst other industries.
The session began with Barr. Akinyemi Ayinoluwa (@akinyemilaw) who delineated the responsibilities of bloggers and dished out tips on how to stay safe within the law. Mr Osagie Alonge (@Osagz) revved up the audience by explaining the importance of bloggers in a real time digital age. The short but knowledge packed session ended with the brilliant brand specialist Mr Franklin Ozekhome (@DonnieFranklin) who gave tips on how to create an identity.
