Omotola in court over breach of contract

Top Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde who just back from Jamaica where she reportedly finalised some juicy contracts, has engaged the services of popular Lagos lawyer and human rights activist, Festus Keyamo to defend her in a case of breach of contract filed against her company, Redhot Concepts Limited by an up and coming lawyer, Keshi Elvis who holds brief for Megafield Solicitors.
According to the lawyer, trouble started when the latter failed to honour the contractual agreement they entered into in 2010.He said all entreaties he made to Omotola and her company to honour the agreement hit brick wall, a situation which prompted his decision to seek redress in court.
Narrating how he met Omotola, the young lawyer said one Isaac who was his younger brother ‘s colleague in his office introduced him to the actress some two years ago (February, 2010. ). Isaac had hinted his younger brother that Omotola was in dire need of a young and vibrant lawyer to handle her briefs. According to Isaac, Omotola’s former lawyer wasn’t handling her briefs satisfactorily and it was on this premise that Elvis was introduced to the actress.
The lawyer stated further that
“Omotola’s number was made available to me and after series of telephone discussions, we scheduled an appointment in her office. Then, she was having issues with Africa Independent Television, AIT following a programme on Kakakii, where Omotola was said to have travelled to the United States to carry out breast enlargement.”
“I wrote a letter to the management of DAAR Communications, owners of AIT and Raypower 100.5. The matter was eventually resolved via retraction on the same programme and a letter of apology tendered by the company’s law firm representing Jumoke Alao.”
“ Impressed on how I handled the matterwith AIT and other assignments, the actress entered into contractual agreement with my firm, where I insisted that my annual retainership fee would be N500,000. She negotiated for N200,000 per annum retainership fee. I prepared an MOU and after studying it, she invited me on 22nd or 23rd of February, 2010 for the execution of the MOU.” he recounted.
Meanwhile, in the memorandum of Understanding signed by Omotola’s company and the lawyer, Keshi explained that the actress agreed to pay him the sum of N200,000 annually as his retainership fee in addition to paying him also a professional fee as well as out of pocket expenses incurred by me while handling her brief which she did not honour.
“Both parties, without coercion, signed the agreement. I have since carried out all instructions from Redhot concepts through Omotola”Elvis said.
According to the young laywer, since the MoU,was endorsed, he has only received a cheque of N50,000 from Omotola. He has gone to court to demand for the balance of his retainership agreement for 2010 (N150,000) and the retainership agreement for 2011 ( 200,000) as well as fee for services rendered between this period which amounted to N1,150,000.
“In February 2012, I wrote Omotola where I terminated our agreement, with a letter of demand.. She ignored me all this while.”
However, in a counter affidavit from Omotola’s counsel, Festus Keyamo , and which was made available to WG, the actress agreed owing the complainant the sum of N350,000, and not N1,150,000”as he claimed. The case came up yesterday, at the Magistrate court 1, Ikeja, Lagos.
Meanwhile, efforts to contact Omotola over the telephone to get her own side of the story proved abortive as her cell phones were switched off.

Rita Dominic’s Rumoured Fight With Ini Edo: ‘I Don’t Have A Problem With Ini’—Rita Dominic

Follow@ebonychic4life

Rita Dominic and Ini Edo
In 2011, various news media feasted heavily on the reported misunderstanding brewing between sexy Nollywood actresses, Rita Dominic and Ini Edo.
The reported fight, which emanated from Rita Dominic’s tweets when both were canvassing for votes for 2011 AFRIFF awards, became a heavy news story.
They (Rita and Ini) were running to become the best actress of the award which was sponsored by Arik Airline. The winner was to get a trip to London in 2012.
Rita then reportedly accused Ini Edo of manipulating the voting process when she then tweeted, “ok, I have to announce this o! Ini Edo, who had 200 votes last night has eclipsed the first actress by 200 votes. Jezuxxx.”
This tweet by Rita spurned bitter webs between both prolific and sexy actresses and news went round that both were no more in good terms.
Just few weeks ago, a fan asked Rita, “when are you going to reconcile with Ini Edo?” The Imo State-born award-winning screen goddess answered, “hmm, I don’t have any problem with Ini that requires we reconcile. Don’t believe everything you read.”
Though this is not the first time actresses openly mislead their fans and turn them against the media, but we hope this is an exception.
Recall that in few months ago, Ini Edo first denied being pregnant but later admitted to it. Uche Jombo, some days prior to her secret wedding in May 2012, reportedly denied any marriage plans only to get married days later. The list is endless.
In February 2012, at the premiere of Ini Edo’s ‘I’ll Take My Chances’ held at Silverbird Galleria, Lagos, Rita was not present. When we asked Ini why Rita was not at the event, she declined to comment on it...

Girl Wakes In Mortuary 2 Days After Death
**I thought we were all sleeping.

Miracles are still happening! Twenty-one-year-old Adora Ugwu is planning to be a soldier. She also wants to secure admission into one of the country’s tertiary institutions. She had put her hands on the plough of her latter dream by writing the last UMTE.

But, as she was going for the other one, she died. Two days after the lady wrote the examination, she was heading for her home state of Enugu for the recruitment into the Nigerian Army when the vehicle she was travelling had a head-on collision with a similar minibus.

The result: her death and that of 25 others who included four discharged members of batch B National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

Twenty of them including Adora reportedly died on the spot in headon collision involving two 15 passengers’ capacity buses, each, belonging separately to Peace Mass Transit Limited and the Enugu State Transport Company (ENTRACO). The buses had registration number BENUE - XB 504 TKP, ENUGU - XL 812 UWN respectively.

The ghastly crash occurred along Enugu- Markudi express road, at Amoka in Udi, Enugu State on June 20th. Immediately after the crash which was promptly reported to the Enugu State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) by its Delta State Sector Commander Lukas Ikpi who met the accident while travelling on the road, the dead including Adora were evacuated to Our Saviour Hospital morgue at 9th mile. But she was not meant to stay among the dead for long.

Two days after she had been confined to the mortuary. The parents had wept and mourned, most of them especially the mother was devastated, but the dead must be buried. And this was what Adora’s relative intended doing: bury her two day-old corpse. At the morgue, the attendants were putting in place all the deeds of mortification when suddenly there was a sound; a sneeze, it was. They looked around, then another one! Behold, the body being prepared for claim by the relatives had just sneezed.

The dead don’t sneeze, they reasoned. Adora, whose body was being prepared, is not dead after all. When Saturday Mirror asked her what she felt on her first realization of consciousness, she said: “I thought we were all sleeping. When I asked people around where I was, she said they said I had an accident.

"I cannot remember anything that happened when I was at the mortuary.” When Adora was discovered to be alive, her relative who had come to identify her was immediately called phoned the others from the morgue. Tears turned to felicitation. From the morgue she was later transferred to the Federal Orthopaedic Hospital in Enugu where is currently receiving treatment and spoke with Saturday Mirror.

Adora, told Saturday Mirror that she hails from Enugu state. She said she attended a secondary school in North-Bank Markudi, Benue State adding that she was in Benue to take her JAMB after which she was travelling down to Enugu for army recruitment when the accident occurred. - mirror news.

“Lesbians after us” – Nollywood twin sisters, Chidinma and Chidiebere Aneke cry out

Their fast rising feats in the Nigeria motion picture industry, globally known as Nollywood reminds you of the adage that says, ‘hard work pays.’
They may not be mentioned in the same breath with A-list actresses who possess mouth-watering endorsement deals with conglomerates; nonetheless the effervescent and charming Enugu State-born queens of numerous chartbusting movies, Chidinma and Chidiebere Aneke are no pasties.
The identical twins warmed their ways into hearts of many movie buffs in 2004, when they embraced the klieg lights.
After thrilling movie buffs in hit flicks such as: Crazy Twins, Jealous Friends, Desperate Twins, Lagos Girls, Broken Ambition, Revenge of the Gods, among others, the Business Administration and Mass Communication graduates of Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu are not resting on their oars.
Although, from a polygamous background, the entertainers believe that the sky is their starting point.
The Aneke sisters in a recent interview granted to E-Express, opened up on several issues bordering their burgeoning careers especially their desire to walk down the aisle with twin brothers the same day, which is not forth coming, why they cant marry Peter and Paul Okoye of the P Square fame and how lesbians bombard them with text messages.
They said: “Our prayer is to marry twin brothers and have our weddings same day. We pray for this every day. Our suitors can pay our bride prices differently, but we want the wedding to hold on the same day. God said ‘my daughter, ask anything you want and it shall be granted.”
This form of union referred to as quaternary marriage doesn’t happen too often. Over the years, only few twin sisters across the shore of Nigeria have walked down the aisle with identical twin grooms, why they can’t marry Peter and Paul Okoye of the P Square fame and how lesbians bombard the with love messages.
Asked if they would accept marriage proposal from P Sqaure, the Anekes affirmed, “If they come we would’ve to pray over it. We can’t just say yes to them, except if it’s the will of God. Even Jesus Christ told God ‘let your will be done’.  With the level we’ve attained in Christianity, we don’t think we can just wake up and say yes to anybody that comes seeking our hands in marriage.
“They are good on their side, but we can’t just say yes like that. This is because once we are married, we are married. We would not on any ground go out of our marriages. So that is why we are being careful with who we say ‘yes I do’ to.
“Look, money is not everything oh! God will always show you signs to prove to you that so so person is your husband. I want a situation where I will miss my husband whenever he is not around. See my brother; it’s after white wedding and traditional wedding that the real marriage sets in! One has to be very careful when going into marriage, if we marry, we will even buy condoms and give our husbands once they are stepping out! The fact that almost every man cheats is unarguable. Even my late father at his old age was still saying ‘Ada kedu’ (fine girl how far?)(Laughter). But he loved and cared for his children. One woman is hardly enough for any man.”
On how they are copping with the menace of lesbianism currently rocking the movie industry, the fast rising duo said: “They (lesbians) have been sending us text messages. They don’t come to us direct. They will call our PA and start passing all kind of messages to us. They have been calling and sending messages.
EXCERPTS FROM E-EXPRESS

“I want to be buried at Stamford Bridge” – Nollywood actor, Mr. Ibu

Mr. Ibu earns his living clowning. For over 2 decades, he has remained one of Nigeria’s first-class wits. Slapstick or sitcom, any genre of comedy is right up his path. He is best of the best in an ‘overflowing world of comedians’; a Katt Williams and Lee Evans rolled into one. But unknown to many, Mr. Ibu, whose real name is John Okafor has a burning desire.
The Enugu State-born thespian in a recent interview gave what many would tag ‘Soccer Shocker when he said he would not mind to be interred at Stamford Bridge, the home ground of European Champions, Chelsea Football Club. He said: “Yes of course, blue is the colour of my blood. It runs in my blood stream. I will remain a Chelsea fan until I die. When you love something, you must be addicted to it. A typical example is Indian hemp smokers. They only understand languages relating to Indian hemp. When an Indian hemp smoker is talking, his spirit can automatically tell him to shut up and he will obey. The same Indian hemp spirit can equally order him to pull off his clothes and go naked. The message I am passing to you is that I am completely addicted to the affairs of Chelsea as a football team. I love Chelsea so much that I don’t care if I’m buried at Stamford Bridge.
“Funny enough, all Chelsea victories are magical. If you want to know whether I am a true fan of Chelsea ask me the names of all their players and the positions they play. I can also tell you the best player in every position. Anelka was a roving player that helps other strikers when he was around. The only problem he had was inconsistency. He does well, sometimes he functions well, and some other times he does not. My problem with Mata is that he is a one legged player. Hulk is supposed to be with us but I do not know what happened. I call him Incredible Hulk because he wears the look. I am happy that Hazard is now with us and has been doing very well since he came on board.” He added.
The full interviewed was published in the current edition of Entertainment Express Newspaper.
