The event, which held at the camp social and cultural centre, saw all youth corps members converging in large number to showcase their creativity.
Different creative corps members exhibited their talents in Music, dance, comedy and a host of other talents.
However, the highlights of the event were the Miss Camp Beauty contest, Mr Macho contest and Miss hot legs contest.
The corps members went wild when the men came out on their female attires, disguised as women. It was hard to for an ordinary audience to know whether those were the same Mr. Macho contestants. Upon realization, the crowd went wild.
It was also a tough contest for the women as about 10 contestants took part in the contest

Charlyboy, AKA Areafada was at the event to support the corps members. Upon sighting him, the ‘Otondos’ as they are fondly called went wild. In his address, Charlyboy had told the youth corps members to go after their dreams with tenacity and consistency, using his life history as an analogy. It became an interactive session as the corps members took their time to confront the Areafada with different controversial questions. In his usual philanthropic way, the Charlyboy foundation parted with N200,000 in support of the event.
The camp Social Director Madam Joy said the event was part of the activities marking the official closure of the camp. According to Joy, the event was one of the best ways creative youth corps members can be encouraged. Joy said “ As you can see, we have got great talents here. I’m sure you have not stopped laughing since you came into this arena. Our MC, Amebo is a Comedian that can beat any Comedian anywhere in the world. That goes to tell you that Nigerian youth are creative, and must be encouraged. This is NYSC’s own way of encouraging them. We try to place emphasis on the need for our youth to rely on their creativity in the absence of government job. Thank God, few people have come out today to support us. I thank Charlyboy and his Foundation for their wonderful support and all those who came out to grace this wonderful occasion. I assure you, next camp will be better” She said.

There is nothing wrong with women taking over Nollywood – Genevieve Nnaji
The emergence of Fiberisima Ibinabo as first female president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, to Nollywood’s A-list actress, Genevieve Nnaji is a gender changing moment for growth. Genevieve speaks on her contribution to the whole event and her hope that women would continue to take-over the mantle of leadership in all human endeavors.
What is your comment and contribution to the emergence of Ibinabo Fiberisima as AGN`s first female president?
I personally endorsed her and I encouraged her to contest. I am really glad that she made it.
Do you see her coming as a new era of good things to come in AGN?
I hope so and I think a lot will change. Once there is a change, just a little hole, it will create an expansion and doors would be opened. We are all hopeful, fingers crossed. This will be a good thing for the industry as a whole.
But is it African or socially right for women to take over the control of the AGN?
What is wrong with that? If that is not true but then, what is wrong with that? We are human beings; you have men, you have women. What other optionts are there ,dogs?
What kind of support are you giving her?
I am giving her my personal support anyway she wants it and anyway I can, at least to my ability.
Has she approached you yet?
Well, she has spoken to me about one or two things; nothing conclusive yet. But yea, they are things I am not going to shy away from.
Are you still that close to your sister and family or has money and fame taken far from her?
Yes. I am always going to the family home. That is where I left before coming to this event.
Boko Haram: Northern Christians beg government to come to their rescue
Worried over the incessant killings in the Northern part of the country, Christians in the North-East region have appealed to the federal and state governments across the country to come to their rescue.
A statement by a senior official of the Christian body said that the outlawed Boko Haram sect are moving from house to house in the night to kill Christians in Maiduguri, Borno State capital, and the rural areas of the state.
The statement also revealed that Christians are now afraid anytime Sunday is approaching because their colleagues are being massacred daily despite representations to government and that the Joint Task Force (JTF) to contain the high level of insecurity in the region, arguing that the Federal Government needs to pay more attention to developments in the North-East.
“Christians are frightened for fear of being attacked at anytime to the extent that those who are bold enough to still identify with their faith now do so under cover by hiding their Bibles when going to church,” the message stated, adding that the Federal Government, which “has done well thus far, should intensify efforts to secure the region”, the statement said.
“The Federal Government should increase the number of troops to effectively patrol every nook and cranny of the state capital (Borno) because most of the killings now take place in the rural areas of the there.”
“No matter what we are facing currently, we still believe in the efficacy of prayers as a way out of this state of insecurity. The situation is very grave and we need God’s intervention to solve it.”
