Jay-Z’s Atlantic City 40/40 Club Closed

Jay-Z’s Atlantic City 40/40 Club Closed
The $4 million dollar Atlantic City branch of Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club is closed.
The reports that the up scale sports bar shut it’s doors back in October when its lease ended. That was the same month that Hurricane Sandy hit the Atlantic City area, and as a result the club experienced significant water damage.
“There was a big hole in the roof as well,” stated the club’s spokesman Ron Berkowitz. “With the end of the lease and with Sandy, we decided we had a good run, and it was time to move on.”
Since opening in October of 2005, the 40/40 Club had been become a major site in A.C. for hosting parties and events that catered to Hip-Hop crowds. Some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment like Beyoncé, Terrell Owens, and Nicki Minaj were seen at the venue.
The Atlantic City 40/40 did receive some bad press in 2009 when video footage of bouncers allegedly beating two men outside the club surfaced online. DJ Fah D, who did a one year residency at the nightspot in 2011, told the Press of Atlantic City that the crowds at 40/40 decreased after the incident took place.

Vimbai Mutinhiri
The eloquent and stylish host of StarGist, Vimbai Muntinhiri says she is excited about hosting the maiden edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards which holds in Lagos, Nigeria on Saturday, March 9. Vimbai, who would be co-hosting the awards with Big Brother Africa resident host IK Osakioduwa, said in a telephone interview that although she is looking forward to seeing the many top African stars on the night, she will be keeping an eye out especially on Ghana’s bad boy, Majid Michel.

This is my first time hosting an award especially of this magnitude, so it’s daunting but also very exciting!”
She also shared her expectation: “ I'm expecting a night of glamour but more so, a night of celebration because I guess that’s what we doing. It’s going to be all about fun, I don’t think it’s about winners or nominees that don’t win. It’s about celebrating the fact that the best of African film and television have gathered in one place to celebrate the journey that we have travelled so far. It’s a celebration of all the years of hard work that we haven’t celebrated”
The Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards will be an evening of glitz and glamour as Africa’s best in the television and movie industry gather in Lagos.  It promises to be a high profile event and the first of many for Africa Magic. Tune in to Africa Magic Entertainment to see Africa’s brightest stars walk the red carpet ahead of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards ceremony. Which designer will they wear? Rihanna’s revealing online photos have made her mom mad as hell

In the anything-goes world of celebrity self-promotion, it’s somehow reassuring to know that the buck stops somewhere — and that somewhere is Mom. Grammy-winning singer Rihanna has had images posted of her smoking questionable cigarettes, as well as revealing photos of her clad in next to nothing. This has not pleased her mother, Monica, who “went crazy on me” in a phone call, Rihanna told Elle magazine. “I was, like, embarrassed. I felt like I got my ass whipped in front of my class at school. She humbled the f*ck out of me.” Does this mean no more risqué Rihanna pics online? Time will tell. [Source]
