It may be dangerous It’s a dicey situation we’ve all found ourselves at some point in our relationships. Should we tell our partner that someone else admires us enough and may even be making romantic moves on us?
And to think that our part-ner will never be appreciated by someone else apart from us is something very funny too. In this age and clime where most social interactions are a click away, not to talk of the office environment and other physical environments for face to face meetings, it is imperative that daily, our social interactions will bring attention from members of the opposite sex who will find a romantic at-tachment to us to be worthwhile for them and some of them that are bold enough will actually come out and say so to us, not-withstanding the fact that some of them may even know that we are in a relationship with some-one else.
What we saw in our partner that made us fall in love with each other can and will also be seen by others who also appre-ciate the finer things in life that we cherish. If it’s the way your partner smiles that you love, someone else too will love it. If it’s your partner’s beauty and in-telligence or maturity or any of the other things that can easily be noticed, be sure that someone else will also notice those things and will appreciate them enough in your partner to want to share that thing. It is the law of nature.
There’s a popular saying that says ‘something really good can-not be meant for only one person’.Now that we know that there’s nothing wrong in being admired, the next question is, ‘should we tell our partner that someone, maybe even a known friend, is ro-mantically interested in us?’

Yvonne Nelson Appear On MSN African

The report on her states, "these days, it is common to see celebrities take to one form of charity or the other while maintaining an active career. In recent times, setting up a charity or a not-for-profit organization to cater for the need of a particular sector of society that is falling short of support has become almost like an in-thing, if not mandatory.
Now, the rules of living a buoyant celebrity life is such that a part of what you earn should at least find its way into the hands and mouths of some other people you may not even know but then society demands that you do that.
For those who refuse to be browbeaten into accepting that they must at all cost fend for someone else’s livelihood at one point or the other in their career, are almost viewed with some understandable level of disdain by a larger section, and in most instances declared “celebrity non-grata”.
This is all the more reason why the likes of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt will continue to earn the respect of that larger section of society – because they play by their society’s rules and respect the rule that says, “Live and let live”.
With this feat recorded by the leggy queen of Ghollywood, Yvonne Nelson, no doubt, she has stepped up her game fully.

Christina Aguilera took to Twitter yesterday to share the cover art for her new album,Lotus. And let’s just say, she pretty much shares everything. On the cover, Aguilera is nude, with her long blonde locks draping over her chest while special effects disguise her bottom-half. It appears she’s emerging out of a lotus flower.
“#LOTUS album cover. Here it is! Album out Nov 13. XoXtina,” Aguilera tweeted. This record will be “The Voice” star’s seventh studio album and features her new hit single, “Your Body.”
“I’ve been through a lot since the release of my last album, being on (“The Voice”), having had a divorce,” the 31-year-old said recently. “This is all sort of a free rebirth for me.”
And in an interview with MTV News, the singer revealed that she’s learned to completely love herself, and her album represents that.
“At this point of my life, I feel that I’ve reached a place where I’m completely embracing everything about who I am,” she said, “and I’m having more of an understanding of myself.”

“No Sex Outside of Marriage” Is This a Question of Law, Religion, Culture or Morality?
Follow@ebonychic4life
I loved my Jurisprudence classes in University very much. It’s the one reason why I’d study law again if I come back to this side of the divide. I was super excited when we did “Law & Morals”. We discussed the issue of the criminalization of murder. Why was killing another person a crime? Was it because it was wrong? If it’s wrong, who determines what’s right and what’s wrong. (Please note, we were not justifying murder! We were having a discourse in class about law and morals!). Sometimes, I wish I was a lawmaker too… imagine what I’d do with my powers; all my pet peeves would be criminalized. Peeing on the streets, tossing Gala wraps out of the window of your moving car, even foolishness would be a crime if it were up to me! We talked about prostitution and whether it should be criminalized as it bordered more on morality when we explored the topic further. The issue of bigamy as a crime was raised; some people argued that it wasn’t the business of the State what a man did within the privacy of his bedroom but whether we like it or not, morality has somehow found its way into our laws.
Last week, I was having a very animated discussion with TJ about his article on whose responsibility it is to get contraceptives and he said “Atoke, your readers are quite self-righteous! Do you mean nobody is having sex outside of marriage?” As a Voltron, I was offended by the wide sweeping generalization but it actually got me thinking about the issue “Sex OUTSIDE of matrimony.” So why exactly is the issue of sex outside marriage an issue? Please don’t get angry yet and jump to the comments section… hear me out.
- Is it a religious requirement? If it is, is there a presumption that everybody shares the same religious beliefs? If my religion is silent on the issue of sex outside of marriage, why should I be judged by your religion? Why should I be castigated for not living by the instructions of your religion?
- Is it a legal requirement? Is there a law one is breaking if one is having sex outside marriage? Is adultery or fornication a crime?
- Is it a cultural requirement? Does our culture prohibit sex outside of marriage?
- Is it simply morally wrong? Bearing in mind that morality is highly subjective, we know that what is moral to John may be simply appalling to George!
I put this up as my personal message on my Blackberry Messenger: ‘Is No Sex Outside of Marriage’ a religious requirement or a cultural one? Please share your well thought out thoughts. The responses I got were mostly in favour of religion. My friend, MiMi, said “Both, but more religious because some cultures allow you have babies outside of marriage! In fact, some cultures wont allow you marry if you’re not pregnant” So I asked if I was required to be held by the same standards if I wasn’t bound by the requirements of that religion. To that she replied “Oh well, I guess, to each his own“. My friend, Funke, said, “The Bible says it’s wrong” So I retorted cheekily “So do you abide by the laws/requirements of the Bible sensu stricto”. Unfortunately, I asked my silly friend, Anne and her response was “It’s an insane one” and she went further to buttress her point concluding with ”Getting married in a church doesn’t automatically make you a christian. Neither does getting married in a registry make you a law maker. Why pick and choose the laws you want to obey?People just talk from a sanctimonious point of view oh jere! “
I guess these things get to me because of the things I see in my line of work. I find that a lot of people take the moral high ground on a lot of issues without having properly thought them through. I’m afraid that the more I think about issues and I rationalize them, I’d become less sociable because I’d end up not really having an opinion about a lot of things.
What do you guys think? Is sex outside of marriage wrong because it’s morally wrong? Is it wrong because your Holy Book says it’s wrong? Is it wrong because our fore fathers have said it is wrong? Or is it just a crime to be going at it without a certificate legalizing it?
Let’s discuss!

Lagos will no longer allow other states’ number plates - says Govt

The Lagos State Government yesterday said it would no longer allow the use of vehicles with number plates from other states of the federation for commercial transportation in the state.
It also advised residents with private vehicles to change to the state’s number plates to reflect the fact that they are living in Lagos.
The Director, Vehicle Inspection Office, Mr, Gbolahan Toriola, said the measure was meant to achieve “sanity, standard, safety and security” as stipulated by the road traffic law.
Toriola spoke at the vehicle inspection safety campaign organised by the Ministry of Transportation in conjunction with the Political and Legislative Bureau for commercial drivers in Ikeja.
He said, “There is nothing wrong in bringing commercial buses from other states. But if you must use it in Lagos, you have to change the colour and re-register it with us so that we have your information in our database.
“This is a standard procedure. As a matter of fact, it you have lived in a state for about three months, you are no longer a visitor and therefore you must change your number plate to reflect the state. It is done in America and other developed nations.
“Of course, this provision did not affect inter-state vehicles carrying passenger from other state. But we don’t expect them to pick or drop passengers at every bus stop. There are dedicated bus stops and parks for inter-state vehicles. If they violate this and we get them, they will face our law.
“You must put waste basket in your buses; there must be first aid box; you must carry extra tyres. These are what our law stipulates.”
The VIO boss who highlighted the provisions of the traffic law, advised them to cooperate with the government to ensure security in the state.
A director in the ministry, Mr. Bola Matanmi, also advised the drivers not to turn themselves to traffic officials, but instead apply to the ministry so that they would be given a Special Marshall status.
He added that the union would be given the privilege to choose the colour of the uniform for drivers and conductors.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Political and Legislative Affairs, Mr. Muslim Folami, said the traffic law, which has 43 sections and four schedules was for the interest of Lagosians. He urged the drivers to submit to the law for sanity and safety.

Kanye lovingly tweets about Steve Jobs a day after quitting Twitter
Follow@ebonychic4life
Just one day after mysteriously announcing that he was leaving Twitter (“BE BACK SOON,” he wrote Thursday), Kanye West was back on Friday. The reason for West’s return? Not a new hit or a new lovestruck quip about Kim Kardashian, but a series of comments about none other than … Apple founder Steve Jobs. The once-prolific tweeter spoke up yesterday to commemorate the first anniversary of Jobs’ death. Using all-caps for no discernible reason, West noted,
“WE LOST STEVE A YEAR AGO TODAY… HE IS ONE OF THE MOST INSPIRING AND INFLUENTIAL HUMAN BEINGS OF OUR EXISTENCE ALONG WITH MICHAEL JACKSON, WALT DISNEY, AND DR. KING. LET’S BE THANKFUL FOR HIS LIFE AND RESPECT HIS LEGACY BY NEVER COMPROMISING ON OUR FUTURE
Rihanna’s dad loves Chris Brown because ‘he’s always shown me respect’

Many of us feel queasy as we watch Rihanna and Chris Brown resume a relationship. However, Rihanna’s father Ronald Fenty has “no problem” with the man who was convicted of battering his daughter in 2009 getting back together with her, maybe because Fenty used to abuse Rihanna’s mother.Rihanna described her dad breaking her mother’s nose in a 20/20 interview in 2009 and confessed as a girl she promised herself “I’m never going to date somebody like my dad, never.”
Now that Rihanna may be falling back into a familiar relationship dynamic, her dad is gushing, “I love Chris … he’s always shown me respect.” Apparently abusing his own flesh and blood is not seen as disrespectful to Fenty. [Source]

The 51- year-old man was said to have allegedly thrown his wife, Sadiat, out of their matrimonial home for giving birth to a bouncing baby girl.
The wife who was dragged before an Agege customary court by her hubby for not allowing him to see his daughter, however said that Lukman had earlier cautioned her that the reason she would continue to live under the same roof with him is to give him a male child.
Sadiat alleged that her husband once vowed that he would not Carter for the child and that she ( Sadiat ) would raise the child at her parents house.
The wife also told the court that barely three months after she gave birth to her daughter, Lukman threw her belongings out of his house, and claimed that he didn’t have interest in the relationship any longer.
” To my surprise, Lukman came to my parents house when my daughter was exactly one year old claiming that he wanted to mark the little girl’s birthday”.
Sadiat added that her daughter ran way from him, because she didn’t know him as a father. In his submission, Lukman told the court that his mother-in-law doesn’t like his face, adding that she doesn’t want her daughter to live with him as his wife.
He therefore prayed that the court should dissolve the marriage and grant him custody of the girl.
