UNIPORT Killings: Jim Iyke, Yemi Blaq, Okey Bakassi, Grace Amah, Jennifer Eliogu, Emeka Duru, Mr. Kool, others speak out

Nigerian celebrities
Nigerian celebrities
According to nollywoodgossip.. ..As the country struggles to come to terms with the extreme gruesomeness that characterized the recent killing of 4 University of Port Harcourt students by some illiterate mob from Omuokere  Aluu community, Rivers State,Nigerian celebrities have decided not to stay mute on the matter.it could clearly be seen that they are not only shocked and infuriated but are highly disappointed by the manner the killings occurred.
These are what they’re saying:
By Delia Innoma (Live Online with Delia)
Honorable Tony oneweek (Nollywood Actor and Musician) It is a shame that in year 2012, we still experience what happened to these Uniport students that were illegally murdered based on allegation. A man is deemed innocent until he is found guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction. I solidly stand with other concerned Nigerians to condemn this action in totality. This is barbaric jungle justice. Government must stand up to its job of securing life and property. Too bad.
Jim Iyke (Nollywood Actor) Someone needs to remind me again we are in a democratic society. We act like these reprehensible acts of senseless waste of precious lives is in a civil war. Our sweep-it-under-the-carpet and move on syndrome is taking us at an unprecedented height. We need to rise up as an entity and decry this evil in our security system or it will take us all under in the wake of its tide. I’m not a doomsday messenger but it’s easy to see where this propensity is leading us.
Lawrence Lurrenz Onuzulike (Nollywood Actor/Author) I think it’s barbaric. It makes me wonder if Nigerians still believe in God. In what part of the Bible did God say we should kill people–even if they stole phones? And what made it more painful is that I’m here in Germany giving speeches, trying to convince Nigerians here that it’s time to move back home and join in the development of the country and GBAM! This exploded. I’m short of words.
Yemi Blaq (Nollywood Actor) I think it is absolute barbarian: And anyone who kills in the name of any course is a murderer. My heart is broken.
Okey Bakassi (Nollywood Actor/Comedian) What we are experiencing today in Nigeria as exemplified by the Uniport killings is a demonstration of the collapse of the entity called Nigeria. It’s a failure of leadership at all levels: Executive, Judicial, Legislative, Religious, Cultural, etc., people are slow to love and quick to hate. The world is becoming more sophisticated in the act of wickedness. Where were the police all through the ordeal of those boys? In this GSM era…all those who supervised the barbaric killings of those young boys probably claim to know God. Shame on us all.
Jennifer Eliogu (Nollywood Actress) Justice must take its course.
Grace Amah (Nollywood Actress) The incident was traumatizing, horrendous, barbaric, despicable, geeky and simply wicked to have taken place at this level of development of the human race. If nothing is done to stop this high level of barbarism in our land, it will add to the image challenges Nigeria is facing and puts a question mark on the leadership of the University authorities in Nigeria. We have laws, why wouldn’t the laws be applied where students infringe on them in matters as ordinary as stealing phones and laptops at a time our national source of economic growth-the oil is being stolen daily and the toil thieves are celebrated. Nigerians are waiting to get an answer from the authorities of the University of Port Harcourt and Jonathan government as to why such future in those young men will be wasted for nothing.
Kelly Akara (Nollywood Actor) It’s a very sad thing. Why did the people of that community take laws into their hands? No matter what they did, at least we have police stations where they can take them, rather than taking their lives. I watched the video, omg! I stand to condemn the barbaric act. I totally condemn what the vigilante group or whatever they call themselves did. So the state government should step in. Yea!
Sylvanus Madu (Nigeria Actor) It’s Barbaric and foolishness of the highest order. No human has the right to take another man’s life, not even with the law. That’s why some countries change their laws not to sentence to death but life in prison. I disagree with jungle justice, real madness. And to think that people were there watching and recording it with their phones shows the heartlessness and wickedness of the people in that area. Abi dem think say na home video abi stage play? It’s terrible how callous some Nigerians can be.
Patience Johnson (Nigerian Author) I feel sad. This is very wrong. Why are heart of men so wicked?
Mr. Kool (Nigerian Musician)  There have been some controversies about the incident and the actual offence of the killed students. But I think one point is clear, mob action or jungle justice is totally unacceptable. The killing was barbaric, the victims had the right to life, the right to defend themselves and be punished under the law if found guilty of any crime. The authorities should bring the perpetrators to book. It is really unfortunate.
Chigozie Atuanya (Nollywood Actor)  I’m not happy about the fools that killed those boys but God will see them.
Junior Pope(Nollywood Actor) It’s absolutely barbaric, whichever way you want to look at it. It’s horrible in the sight of God and man. I condemn it with my last breath, even if they were caught with guns. Why do we have the police and the law? It is inhumanity to man .No one, I repeat, no one deserves such and those who did this should be behind bars. May their souls rest in peace!
Emeka Duru (Nollywood Actor) I’ve seen the video. I didn’t know they were students, so bad. I understand they stole laptop and phone. This is barbaric dear I would have said yes to the killings if they had guns and had killed someone but just for laptop and phone? That’s bad. Not that I support stealing but they should have taken them to the police station.
Charles Abazie (Nollywood Actor) The killing of the Uniport students was sadistic and inhumane. The village people in Port Harcourt should have handed them to the proper authorities. The people involved should be brought to book and properly prosecuted. We have laws in Nigeria and nobody is above the law.
Don Saint (Nigeria Musician)
This is the worst act I have ever seen in my whole life.
Lily Jean (Nigerian Musician) I am sure by now some of you have watched the video of the brutal killings of the four University of Port Harcourt students – Ugonna, Ilyod, Tekana and Chidiaka, by the indigenes of Aluu community in Port Harcourt. If you haven’t watched the video, please don’t bother. It’s the most gruesome and the most unbelievable thing I have ever seen. It will break your heart!
Now I’m convinced that we have lost our souls as humans. The youths of this nation did this! People’s children! Beaten till they were unconscious, and then set on fire. They said they were robbers…were they? Really? Even if they were, is this how to treat another human being? Are we this Barbaric in this country?
B’ Sala (Nigeria Musician) I will advise people not to take laws into their hands. Everyone has the right to prove himself before the court of law. We are civilized people and we should respect the law. Those guys could have been accused falsely or could truly be guilty but they should have been handed over to the police for further investigation. We operate democracy and we should respect that. I am not in support of crime but I strongly object to people taking laws into their hands, and parents should train their children not to try to get what their parents cannot afford to give them through crimes.
BL Chronicle (Nigeria Musician) I think that act by the people that killed these students is an act of wickedness and it reminds us of the insecurity level in our country Nigeria. I mean where were those that were supposed to guard lives and protect properties? They were supposed to get to the scene before the jungle justice was carried out. Anyways, I think the real truth behind the story is not yet disclosed. This is my own opinion..

The many lies about Nuella Njubigbo

Follow@ebonychic4life

Although her journey into the Nigerian movie industry has been one of a mixed bag of blessings and woes, yet the  star actress, Nuella Njubigbo has remained one of the busiest actresses in Nollywood at the moment.
“The Desperate Prince”, “Money Never Sleeps” and “Royal Crisis” lead actress has had to endure countless lies and rumours that almost ruined her blossoming  career.
Nuella Njubigbo
Not long ago,  she was accused of dating former  governor of Imo State, Ikedi Ohakim, when in actual fact she has never met the ex-governor before now.
As if that was not enough, few months ago, the internet was awash with stories of  her being pregnant for a popular movie director, Tchidi Chikere.  But several months after, there is no baby born or sign of pregnancy making mockery of those who have made it their specialty to fabricate lies about the actress.
Also, only recently it was rumoured that she was having a sizzling  affair with a certain footballer in Russia.
However, reacting on behalf of the fair-complexioned actress, for the first time ever, her  publicist, Prestige Platform, said it is not ready to join issues with the distractors of its client.
According to the PR company,  “if you notice, the fastest growing actress in Nollywood at the moment is Nuella Njubigbo. So we are not surprised that some people have made it their hobbies to manufacture lies about our client.”
“They can keep doing what they are doing but our client will not be distracted. She recently finished  a movie project in Festac where she played the lead. She has been busy acting from east to west, even outside the country. She will continue to do her job and to be a role model that she is and, not disappoint her fans and family and with support and prayers from her fans she will end the year on a high note”
This we found out to be another product of idle minds. On the constant lie and manipulations against our client, we will not join issues with distractors.” Njubigbo’s publicist declared.
A graduate of Imo State University, Njubigbo who started her journey into the movie industry as a script writer has been a constant victim of bad press since her debut in Nollywood few years ago.

He earlier carried out an assessment of Ibaji and Idah Local government areas which by far were the most affected by the flood. He revealed that the federal government was planning to build more dams in order to control future occurrence.
Dr Jonathan arrived at the Maigumeri Barracks aboard his official helicopter at about 11am, in company of the Environment Minister, Hajiya Hadiza Mailafia and the Director-General of the National Emergency Agency, Alhaji Muhammad Sani-Sidi.
Before giving his speech, the president was addressed by the head of the relief camp. He then asked to see some of the babies delivered in the camp.
Jonathan described the flood as a natural disaster which was last witnessed in 1969. He said experts have linked the magnitude of this year’s flood to the effect of global warming.
The president thanked the victims for their patience, emphasizing that he was in the state to commiserate with the government and people over the damaging effects of the flood in the nine affected local government areas.
He lauded the efforts of the state government in providing relief camps and materials and also praised emergency agencies such as NEMA, SEMA, Red Cross and other partners for their assistance in managing the disaster....

Soldiers take over Aluu community, Nigeria Where The 4 UNIPORT Boys Were Killed

Follow@ebonychic4life

Soldiers take over Aluu community, Nigeria Where The 4 UNIPORT Boys Were KilledSoldiers have taken over Aluu community, where four students of the University of Port Harcourt, were murdered in cold blood last Friday.
This is even as residents of Omuokiri are counting losses, following the violent protest, which swept across the area on Tuesday.
The protest was staged by students from the South-South and South- East zones, under the aegis of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), their anger was over the murder of their colleagues.
When Daily Sun visited Omuokiri community yesterday morning, many police patrol vehicles were stationed at strategic positions or moving round the village. Stern-looking security men, that included men of State Security Service (SSS) were everywhere, to avoid a repeat of the indent of the previous night, where over 30 vehicles and no fewer than seven buildings were set ablaze by the angry students. But later in the evening, there was deployment of more soldiers to the community, which had already been deserted by the residents to evade arrest.
According to a source, the deployment of more soldiers to the community was to complement the efforts of policemen to forestall more protests and destruction of property.
In the afternoon, policemen from the River State command visited the burrow pit cum dumpsite, the spot where the students met their untimely death. They were seen removing disused tyres and other objects they suspected were used in killing the students.
Five more suspects arrested in the vicinity yesterday afternoon were seen being forced into police patrol vehicle. Students living in the community were also seen moving out, while many shops and buildings were under lock and key. Some residents who remained in doors were observed peeping from the windows.
Tension in the area is palpable, while some people who summoned courage to stay back were seen in groups discussing what befell the community in the past five days. At the University of Port Harcourt, students were seen leaving in large numbers, after the institution was shut down indefinitely on Tuesday by the school authorities, when the students’ protest turned violent.
A large number of them also besieged the banks in the area, trying to withdraw money to enable them to travel home, pending when the closure order would be lifted.
Giving insight into the event of Tuesday, the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ben Ugwuegbualam, said the police acted swiftly to move the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Joseph Ajienka, to safety.
He said security agents in the state were also working hard to ensure that the crisis did not escalate beyond what had been witnessed in the past days. Ugwuegbulam also appealed to members of the public to cooperate with the security agencies to ensure that peace was restored in Aluu and its environs.
Meanwhile, an on-line report raised the fear about the condition of mother of Ugonna Kelechi Obuzor, the second year Geology student who was brutally murdered alongside his friends Lloyd Toku, Chinadikobi Biringa and Tekena Elkanah. The unconfirmed report said Ugonna’s mother was overwhelmed by the shock of her son’s death.

Popular Nigerian Actor Returns To Secondary School

Follow@ebonychic4life

Afeez Oyetoro
Etisalat Ambassador and Popular comic actor Saka (no sipinsipin) real name Afeez Oyetoro recently, we gathered, has returned to secondary school not to teach but to attend Mathematics class. He marched with the other students on the assembly ground with co pupils on a school uniform.
This fair-skin actor went back to his secondary school, Koso Community Secondary School, Iseyin, Oyo State to relieve the fun memories he had while he was young.
The occasion which served as a mentoring opportunity for Saka to mentor his Alma Mater was made possible by Celebrity School Uniform Groove, an initiative of Ballywalls Integrated.
The actor donated books to the students, painted some school buildings, gave a cheque to the school’s Dramatic Club. He also admonished the students to be diligent, resilient, prayerful, focused and respectful to elders in all their endeavours.
“I am very happy for this visit and it is indeed very nostalgic and symbolic to be in aschool uniform and importantly to be able to affect students and give back to the school. I want to thank the CSUG team for this wonderful initiative and appeal to other celebrities to emulate this,” he said during his speech.

Lesbians take over the city of Calabar

Follow@ebonychic4life

Mrs. Janet Ishi of Orok Orok Street, Calabar, capital of Cross River State, is currently a worried woman. The source of her bother is her eldest daughter, Eno, whose sexual preference is less than conventional. Eno is a member of the city’s growing tribe of lesbians.
And they are found everywhere–civil service, army, police as well as secondary and tertiary institutions. Queen, a dark-skinned beauty, told TheNEWS that lesbians usually seek partners among teenage secondary school, polytechnic and university students. Places like Halls 8 and 9 (Winnie Mandela Hall), Female Medical Students’ Hostel and the School of Nursing Hostel–all at the University of Calabar; Cross River University of Technology female hostel, Federal Government Girls’ College hostels and female hostels in private schools are pools where lesbians go to fish.
Ufot, a 19-year-old girl Law student, told this magazine that several girls approached her at the University of Calabar’s Winnie Mandela Hostel, but she rejected their overtures. However, while visiting Abuja during a semester break, she was introduced to lesbianism. “My sister’s neighbour kept coming to our room to woo me each time my sister was out. She was the one that bought this Nokia X3 phone for me and often gives me money. Each time I made a move to return to school, she would weep and discourage me from going back. It was when she travelled that I left Abuja,” she said.
Lesbians, as heterosexuals do, also keep regular partners and get jealous the same way.
Adun (not real name), a journalist with a national daily, narrated his experience with Cynthia, a girl he thought was going to be meeting his sexual needs. “I took her out to all the nice places in Calabar just to put her in the mood, but she was not forthcoming. I had to make some enquires about her and was told by some people who knew her that she is a lesbian and that she has two female sex partners in the neighbourhood,” he said.
A lecturer at the Department of Sociology, University of Calabar, Dr. James Akapama, told this magazine that the environment creates the atmosphere that engenders same-sex relationship. “These people are young and their minds are susceptible to corrupting influences. They may just want to explore the experience, not knowing that they would be hooked,” he said.
He warned that social influences beyond immediate pleasures can change the direction of one’s life. Dr. Irene Aniyom, Director-General of the State Action Committee Against AIDS, SACA, said lesbianism increases the spread of HIV/AIDS in the state. She said statistics show that over 35,551 persons are currently confirmed to be HIV positive in Cross River State. This figure, she said, is obtained from tests conducted in hospitals, HIV test centres and other medical facilities across the state.

Don’t commit suicide, President Jonathan begs flood victims

Follow@ebonychic4life
PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday urged victims of the devastating floods in Kogi State not to commit suicide, saying the Federal Government will support them.

He also promised to build more dams across the country to forestall a recurrence of flooding.
Jonathan, who spoke in Lokoja, Kogi State after he inspected places ravaged by the floods in the state, decried the havoc the flooding caused.
While advising the victims not to commit suicide, the President promised that the Federal Government would within its available resources provide them with the needed assistance.
The visit, he said, was to deliver the Federal Government’s message of sympathy to the victims.
He said the Federal Government would provide more funds for the affected states.
According to him, the initial Federal Government’s financial provision is to stabilise the affected people.
The President said the Federal Government would further assist the victims who had collected loans from banks, particularly the farmers among them.
He stated that the committee put up to generate money for the victims would succeed and impact positively on the victims.
He also hailed the efforts of the state government, National Emergency Management Agency and other agencies in checking the flooding.
Earlier Governor Idris Wada commended Jonathan for the Federal Government’s quick intervention.
He requested the President to further assist the victims by allocating unoccupied Federal Government houses and buildings at Ajaokuta Iron and Steel Company.

Half-Ton Woman Charged With Murder, Claim’s She’s ‘Too Fat To Kill’

Follow@ebonychic4life

When Sergio Valdez saw his 1000-pound client, Marya Rosales, in bed for the first time, he almost mistook some of her folds of fat for pillows.
“We’ve all seen obese, heavyset people. You have not seen obesity at this level,” Valdez said in “Half-Ton Killer?” a TLC special airing Oct. 10 about Rosales, a woman bedridden from obesity, who claimed she accidentally crushed and killed her two-year-old nephew.
Rosales reportedly weighs nearly 1,100 pounds, enough to qualify her as one of the world’s fattest women, but Valdez says even knowing she weighs more than five average men, doesn’t prepare anyone for her sheer massiveness.
“When you first walk in, she’s got a blanket covering her; there’s pillows all around her and so you don’t know whether it’s pillows or whether it’s her,” he said. “If you reach back in again, you think this is all pillows. You make a circle and [you realize] that it’s Mayra.”
In 2008, Rosales first claimed she killed her 2-year-old nephew Eliseo Jr. when she accidentally rolled over and crushed him under her 1,100 pound frame, but Valdez knew something else was going on.
In the special, Rosales now says she saw her sister use a brush to hit Eliseo repeatedly on his arms, legs and head, and Valdez said she took the blame so that her sister’s other kids would still have a mom.
slide_253123_1573362_freeslide_253123_1573359_free
Valdez said that Rosales’ excuse collapsed under her own massive weight, especially after doctors determined the child’s cause of death came from being hit, not from being smothered.
slide_253123_1573361_freeslide_253123_1573358_free
“We knew something was wrong from the very beginning,” Valdez noted in the show. “We said, we’re going to have you reenact [how you killed the child] and you can show us.”
