“They’re ecstatic and over the moon!” – Adele ‘gives birth to a baby boy’

Follow@ebonychic4life

Adele has reportedly given birth to a baby boy.  New reports claim that the 24-year-old singer and partner Simon Konecki welcomed their child on Friday night. She is said to be ‘ecstatic’ by the baby’s arrival.
A source is quoted as saying: ‘Adele and Simon are ecstatic at their new arrival.  ’She was over the moon that they were expecting their first child together.’
Her spokesman said of Friday night’s reported birth: ‘We are not releasing a statement at this time. No comment.’
Adele announced her pregnancy back in June, writing on her official blog: ‘I’m delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together.
‘I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx’
Adele and Simon started dating last summer and moved in together earlier this year. Simon also has a five-year-old daughter with his ex-wife Clary Fisher.
She has said of Simon in the past: ‘He looks after me. I don’t think I’d have got through the recovery from surgery if not for him.’

Our Feet Are Getting Bigger,Research Shows

Our Feet Are Getting Bigger,Research ShowsAccording to a new report by the National Shoe Retailers Association,Our shoes aren’t getting smaller, the average woman’s foot has grown by more than a size over the last three decades.
Increased nutrition for people in the western world (as has access to high-calorie junk food),have caused an increase in body sizes. It is something that is almost going global and not in the United States alone.
For example,at the beginning of the 20th century the average woman wore a size 3.5 or size 4 shoe. This increased to a 5.5 in the forties and remained this way till the 60s. By the 1970s, the average female foot was a 7.5 and now, forty years later, the most common foot size for the American female is somewhere between an 8 ½ and a 9.
Women are yet to arrive at this realization and still buy smaller shoe sizes out of embarrassment, which can result in foot pain and injuries.
Nevertheless, people will have to learn how to live with the bodies they were born with; few women, we’d imagine, would want to go back to traditions like the excruciatingly painful foot binding of imperial China

“My husband is not married to anyone else” – Funke Akindele clears the air

Follow@ebonychic4life

Nollywood screen goddess and one of the most highly rated Nigerian star actress, Funke Akindele knows she might have to set the records straight sooner or later. “My huband has never been married,” she insists in response to much of the hearsay about her marriage to Almaroof.
“I am the woman he got married to. I was married properly. Alot of negative comments came from sadists who want to run their mouths. So because I am a Youth Ambassador or Celebrity, I can’t have my life?” she asks rhetorically.
It is my life. If I do things because people want me to, I will end up unhappy. I do what I do because I want to be happy. I would still continue to teach morals and campaign against HIV/AIDS and enlighten the youths. It doesn’t make me bad; that is even if it is, because I can tell you authoritatively that my husband is not married to anyone else.
Yes, he has beautiful children, who are not mine now and we have a cordial relationship, which dates back to even before we got married. ‘So what if he has kids? Is that a disease? That is where my heart is! I had many non-biological children even before I got married. I take them as my own children, pay their bills and help them. I have always loved children. So now that God has given me these ones, what should I do?
Will people be happier if I had married someone who didn’t have children, seem so perfect, put on my make-p and fake smile on the red carpet and start weeping when I get home?’ She queries a deadpan ton.
And about my in-laws, they are very wonderful and supportive and my parents and siblings as well.

Genevieve, Tiwa Savage, Don Jazzy, Dr Sid visit flood victims in Delta State

Follow@ebonychic4life

Ms. Genevieve Nnaji, and the MAVIN Crew, Don Jazzy, Dr. Sid, and Tiwa Savage On October 15th and 16th 2012 organized relief supplies and personally visited the refugee camps located in Asaba, Delta State in order to show both physical and moral support to the displaced victims.

The flood, currently ravaging through the nation has displaced over 100,000 families, leaving a lot of people homeless and without any business to keep them afloat. Our Nigerian stars went down to distribute relief supplies, as well as utilize their celebrity influence and raise more awareness to this ongoing natural disaster.

The Reach Out Initiative, a program kick-started by the stars themselves will be utilized to get a lot more people involved, both within and outside the country in donating help, either through relief supplies or financial donations.

Genevieve: “This is just the beginning, as our country has never experienced anything like this. The government is doing the best they can, but we as citizens, can also partake in helping the situation in the best way we can. The plan is to get more people involved, and visit more relief camps in the affected states.”
