Nollywood star and Glo ambassador, Uche Jumbo, was the celebrity guest in the 2nd episode Glo Presents The Big Friday Show last Friday, June 27. The show is produced by entertainment giants, MTV Base.
The lifestyle entertainment magazine programme was launched at Silverbird Galleria on Friday June 22 while the first edition of the show went on air later the same evening. The show which features celebrity appearances, top 10 music video countdown sessions, celebrity and fans meet, amongst other exciting highlights, runs every Friday at 6 .00 p.m. on Silverbird Television (STV), at 7.30 p.m. on MTV Base (DStv Channel 322) and on Wednesday s on African Independent Television (AIT). It is also shown on ORTB (Benin Republic) and ViaSat1 (Ghana).
Just like the first episode, last Friday’s edition was full of fun and excitement for viewers who heared Jumbo, the celebrity guest, talk about her recent marriage for the first time in public and why she kept the engagement and wedding a secret up until now.
Other artistes who featured in the episode were Glo ambassadors P-Square, D’Banj, Whiz Kid, Wande Coal and Chuddy K who were in the Top 10 Music Video Countdown, a statement by Globacom revealed.
Also on the show for last Friday was an up-coming artiste, M-FLOW, who aspires to fill the vacuum left by late rapper Dagrin. He talked to viewers about his music and aspirations.
New Vlogger Stephanie presented the weekly news on what is going on in the entertainment world including the selection of Glo ambassador Funke Akindele and Banky W among the celebrities to carry the London Olympic Torch.
The other segments in last week’s bumper show included new segment, the ASK/REPLY, where Glo subscribers sent in questions and had them answered by the celebrity guest as well as the MEET ME segment where a lucky Glo subscriber had an opportunity to get to meet and interview Uche Jumbo.
Hosted by popular comedian and Globacom ambassador, Baske tmouth, The Big Friday Show also features SMS and MMS trivia/competitions and prize-winning opportunities for Glo subscribers in Nigeria, Ghana and Benin Republic.
The show offers Glo subscribers in Nigeria, Ghana and Benin the opportunity to win prizes including weekly recharge cards, Glo high speed internet modems, high-end Blackberry handsets and Glo SIMs. They can also prank their friends by sending in their home videos by MMS or by uploading onto Facebook.
“The funniest clips will be played on the show, while the overall best prank clip will stand a chance to win a grand prize of US $2000 at the end of the series,” Globacom added.
