For her contribution to the film industry in Africa, Europe and
globally, Nollywood superstar, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, has been
recognized with a special honorary award, BEFFTA FILM ICON.
BEFFTA (Black Entertainment Film Fashion Television and Arts) award
is Europe’s biggest award ceremony celebrating achievements of black and
ethnic personalities in showbiz globally.
BEFFTA founder, Pauline Long, praised Omotola’s great talent and
commended her for being a mentor to the young ones aspiring to get into
the film industry.
Omotola, a World Food Programme Ambassador and Amnesty International
activist, started her career at a tender age of 17 and has appeared in
over 300 hundred movies, often playing the lead roles.
