Two sisters confirmed dead after building collapses in Lagos


Tragedy struck this morning at the popular Jakande Estate, Isolo in Lagos following the death of two sisters after a two-storey building collapsed.
The sisters in their late 20s were said to have lost their lives when the low-cost Block N-20 building collapsed around 7a.m.
Eyewitness said they were living with their mother in Flat 4, Block N20 before the tragic incident occurred.
Confirming the sad and shocking incident, the South-West Coordinator, National Emergency Management Agency, Mr. Iyiola Akande said the two corpses had since been deposited at the mortuary of the Isolo General Hospital.
Akande further disclose that some of the occupants of the building who sustained minor injuries had been treated.
He added that the hospital insisted on police reports before treating the injured persons but his intervention changed the situation.
Dailypost visited the site around 9am . The site had been cleared by rescue agencies but sympathizers were spotted at strategic position discussion the painful incident. Attempts to speak with the bereaved mother proved abortive as she was still trying to recover from the shock....
