Back in August 2012, Africa Fashion Week London enjoyed numerous positive reviews as it was a success. The organisers of AFWL recently made known to the public that the first Africa Fashion Week London 2012 concession store, Studio 29 is already launched in Lagos, Nigeria.
Regarding this fashion project, FAB MAGAZINE states that:
AFWL seeks to continue its support of African-inspired designers with this brand new initiative, the first official AFWL concession boutique… Studio 29 is the next step in making designers both at home and abroad accessible to their Nigerian clientele by providing a one-stop shop, a chic boutique catering for designers’ retail requirements and the ever-growing fashion-conscious Nigerian clients’ demand for a rich variety of designs by both brand new and established labels in one sophisticated retail space.
With a successful second edition of AFWL that saw over 20,000 guests from all walks and stations of life, this new project will be another success as the organizers have set the ball rolling for AFWL 2013 with inspirational patrons like Yinka Shonibare MBE and Mrs. Fifi Ejindu for this year’s edition according to PR Consultant, Sinem-Bilen Onabanjo in a recent post.
Studio 29 is located at 29, Opebi Road, Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria and three other concession stores are currently in the works.
