On Saturday 1st June at the prestigious Scintilla Events Place, Lekki, history was made again when Marcus Pius was crowned the new Mr. Universe Nigeria 2013.
At the star studded event attended by over 2,800 affluent guests, it was glitz, glamour and paparazzi as the 34 finalists for the event dazzled in various outings including traditional attire (which was to interpret their cultural heritage), in swim pants(to show physical fitness and body formation) as well as in evening wear(showing charm, charisma and presentation)
15 of the total 34 made it through the first cut and then another 10 made through to the 2nd round and eventually, the top 5.
After being drilled on various questions to test the intelligence of the contestants, it was Marcus Pius who carried the day by emerging Mr. Universe Nigeria 2013.
The New Mr. Universe Nigeria went home with a brand new Honda Accord. He would also represent Nigeria at the upcoming Mr. Universe Model Pageant in Dominican Republic.
Michael Njoku who represented Ogun emerged Best Model Nigeria and would represent Nigeria at Best Model Universe Contest in Panama. Michael from Abia would also be representing Nigeria at the International Best Model contest in Spain as he became the new International Best Model Nigeria. Patrick okafor who also represented Gombe would represent Nigeria at the Mr. Global Tourism contest in South Africa as he was crowned Mr. Universe Tourism while Auston Osakwe who was crowned as Mr. Nigeria Planet would go all the way to the Philippines to make proud Nigeria at the Mr. Planet Contest in 2014..
All the top finalists would also receive an all-expense paid weekend trip to Obudu Cattle Ranch. A year contract with a reputable modelling agency and lots of other consolation prizes.
