HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT NIGERIA"S NEXT TOP DESIGNER COMING SOON

Nigeria’s Next Top Designer is an initiative of Africa fashion week London, EbonyWorths, and Mahogany productions, a United Kingdom production company which has been organising and producing events for over 15 years.

The growing of fad and attraction for African inspired designs globally and the level of creativity displayed by Nigerian designers at the 2012 edition of AFWL, provides ample inspiration for the emergence of Nigeria’s Next Top Designer, NNTD.

It is a talent hunt show, aimed at promoting African inspired designs from Nigeria and fostering the promotion and development of aspiring Nigerian designers on the world stage.

A magnificent platform for emerging designers, it is a talent hunt show of a special kind, aimed at bringing together  various fashion designers from across the country to showcase the richness of the Nigerian fashion Culture and fabrics.

The project will provide overall management for the distinguished designers, help them develop their skills through our various workshops and trainings.

NNTD will in-still pride in Nigerian fashion designs, promote the creativity of our talented designers, and celebrate the diversity of the Nigerian fashion culture and its  collective contribution to the fashion industry. It will pave the way for the expansion of Nigerian  designers into the global fashion industry, through our international partners. After eons of deliberating and pondering  on how to go about the project, a branded vision has now been conceptualized.

The global fashion market has seen a remarkable growth  in African inspired designs. Looking around us today, majority of mainstream designers have adopted  the new African urban look in their designs. Common and well known designs include the popular Ankara used mostly by Nigerians,  which is now finely crafted in unique and jaw  dropping  styles.

In this ever growing attraction for African inspired designs, Nigeria’s Next Top Designer arrives on the scene.
NNTD will be a  reality show which will include an audition for designers across the country. The competition will be open to aspiring, emerging, existing and new designers. It will be a cutting-edge competition that aims to find the best emerging designer in Nigeria. Participants will include fashion designers, textile designers, accessory designers, footwear and handbag designers, jewellers and milliners.

There will be designers representing the cultural fashion scene from all parts of Nigeria. A pool of 1000 new/emerging designers will be auditioned across the country. They will then be whittled down to 36 eventually by a panel of judges made up of fashion experts. The successful applicants will take part in various tasks to display their creativity. They will be groomed and mentored by our in house guest judges.
First the emerging designers will work in groups under the supervision of mentors and then as individuals to display their creativity in making fashion items. They will then be trained on how to turn their creative ideas into self sustenance.

The winner gets an all expense paid trip to UK for the African Fashion Week London AFWL 2014, goes home with a cash prize, equipment  and a workshop and showroom space  at the AFWL  concession store for one year.

Their collections will also be shown at African Fashion Week Nigeria AFWN 2013. There will be a lot of public and audience involvement. Viewers will be allowed to comment but the final winners will be chosen by the judges. At the heart of NNTD is the willingness to showcase the works of Nigerian designers to an international audience and also to work with them to build sustainable brands.

We will be looking for creative and unique talent that lives and breathes fashion to become the NNTD. There will be a minimum entry criteria and those who do not meet them will not be considered.Form are on sales on the site you PAY TO GTB BANK EBONYWORTHS LIMITED 0130635906
