The city of London witnessed the second ever Edo festival and awards U.K. at the Oasis Banquet Hall, East London recently. The high octane event put together by JJ Barry Entertainment U.K., witnessed a mixture of Edo cultural display, fashion, performances from local and international artistes and also an awards presentation to special dignitaries of Edo origin.
Some of the recipients of prestigious award from 2013 event and the very first edition include prominent sons and daughters of Edo States and Nigerians in diaspora who are contributing to the growth, community development and cultural promotion of not only the Edo people but that of the Nigerian nation in general.
Awards recipients include Governor Adams Aliu Oshiomohle, the Executive Governor of Edo State; Pium Odubu, the Deputy Governor of Edo State; Chief (Dr.) Sir Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, the Esama of Benin Kingdom; Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon, Chief of Staff - Edo State; High Chief Raymond Alegho Dokpesi, Chairman, Daaar Communications (RayPower and AIT); Ambassador Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen (Film maker/Producer/Director) and Senator Daisy Danjuma.
The event has become an annual celebration of Edo culture and festivities and the 3rd edition is billed to take place in the last quarter of 2014.
