KAYMU PARTNERS WITH PROJECT PINK BLUE FOR WORLD CANCER DAY

In commemoration of world cancer day, leading online marketplace Kaymu.com.ng  in partnership with Project Pink Blue, a cancer NGO, is organizing a walk , race and cycle against cancer on the 7th of February 2015 at Sheraton hotel in Abuja.

The walk, race and cycling against cancer will bring together women, men and youths to walk and race with cyclist in order to create cancer awareness, raise fund for cancer research, support people battling with cancer and provide free cancer screening.

World Cancer Day is observed globally by member nations of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) on the 4th February of every year as a unique day to raise awareness and generate opportunities for individuals to see, hear, or read about Cancer. 


The 2015 World Cancer Day is taking place under the tagline ‘Not beyond us’, which will take a positive and proactive approach to the fight against cancer, highlighting that solutions do exist across the continuum of cancer, and that they are within our reach. 

Cancer has become a silent killer in Nigeria. According to the World Health Organization, more than 60 percent of total new annual cases occur in Africa, Asia, Central and Southern America. These regions account for 70 percent of world cancer death and it is expected to rise from 14 million in 2012 to 22 within the next two decades.
