Next week, from 24 to 27 August, is the time that history will be made at the Africa Fashion Week Amsterdam event platform. Fashion designers at different stages of their careers will showcase their creativity and talent to a global audience of businessmen, retailers, media and the public. Models from various countries in and outside Africa will parade the runway with engaging, colourful and well patterned garments from various designers as if it were a tale. The audience should also expect art exhibitions such as paintings, sculptures, nude art. Performances by artists like Kas Beats, Miss Bess, Drey Goldnheads, Princess Bridgette and many more solo artist. For the business minded visitors, you may want to ask for the VIP Networking Room (VIP ONLY) that is where the business goes down in champagne and style.
Gifts Presentation
Unlike previous years, the organization has special surprises for every guest. During each day with catwalk shows one guest will receive a special gift. "We're not going to tell you who will receive the gifts. It has to be exciting! ", says Aydin Acik, Production Manager of AFWA.
DAY 1 - August 24th | Press Conference and Pre-party at Corendon Vitality Hotel Amsterdam. Interview given to journalists by prominent Key Players of AFWA in order to answer questions. An opportunity to meet, greet and interact with Key Players.

Evita Tjon A Ten
Evita is an entrepreneur from Zoetermeer and artist of Surinamese descent. She has Chinese, Creole, Scottish, Lebanese, German and Hindi blood. She works on canvas, paper and papyrus including acrylic and oil paint, charcoal. She also makes graffiti. Her work consists of different styles. With Negroid figures and flowers as the Paloeloe in her work she refers to the Caribbean. Often she weaves large letters in her art and she refers to cosmological conepts. Visitors can see her artwork on the exhibition, held during and prior to the shows.

Jeweler Stijnis
Jeweler Stijnis sponsors the Diamond Ring. Bas Stijnis will be present at the ceremony.
Together with his brother Wim he has learnt the art from their father and mother, who had a jewelry store in Emmen. After having been educated as a goldsmith in Schoonhoven they both worked for various firms. In 2003 they started a shop in Assen. There was an urge to do more with the art skills. Now there is a factory with a machine park of 400 square meters at a secret location in the Netherlands. Under the name SGS (Stijnis Gold Jewelry) they run a manufacturing company that employs skilled goldsmiths. They manufacture authentic jewelry with top quality: Dutch classic jewelry and jewelry of the modern Fjory jewelry line. Their office and showroom is located in Utrecht.
