Jega Confirms Circulation Of Fake Voters Card in Edo State

The Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Nigeria,Professor Attahiru Jega has confirmed the circulation of fake voters card and fake INEC official ID card by some mischief makers ahead of saturday’s governorship election in Edo State.
The issue was raised by Governor Adams Oshiomhole at the stakeholders meeting with the INEC boss in Benin City.Oshiomole, the incumbent governor and flagbearer of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) accused the major oppostion party, the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) as the mastermind of the fake electoral materials. He said they are desperate to rig the election at all costs.
Jega checked some copies of the voters card and agreed with Oshiomhole and other stakeholders that they are fake. However, Jega promised that INEC and security agencies are prepared to forestall any type of rigging and break down of law and order durning the 14 July 2012 election.
Jega also said that some people have been arrested in connection with the sales and distribution of the fake items in Edo State. He warned that anyone whose aim is to to perpetuate criminality durning the election would be brought to book regardless of status in the society or political party affilation.
Meanwhile, niyitabiti.net gathered that PDP is boasting that Edo State Government House be their own again. Chief Tony Anenih, a former minister of works in Nigeria said PDP has all it take to win back the state.
ACN leaders like Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Gov Babatunde Fashola of Lagos state believe that Oshiomhle’s good deeds in government speak for itself and so, he would be re-elected by the people of the state.
