Today Saturday 4th August 2012, the Central Working Committee of The Future Awards will hold its 7th season Nominees Reception at Terra Kulture, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The media and VIP event which will be anchored by BBA 2011 Winner Uti Nwachukwu, is organized to celebrate the 168 leaders, innovators, change makers and entrepreneurs nominated for the awards 7th edition and induct them into The Future Awards Network as well as raise funds for the Down Syndrome Foundation of Nigeria – a non-profit organisation which seeks to provide care for children with down syndrome that have been abandoned by their parents and the society.
Speaking on the event, Mai Atafo (Chairman of the Central Working Committee/Nigerian designer) said “ We are impressed with the people nominated in all categories this season. Bringing them together in a gathering to honor and show them to the world excites us. Obviously only one person emerges in each category but they are all achievers. The beauty of this award for many young Nigerians is to find that many achievers who have done so much great work are so young, and that is why we have put them under the extra scrutiny of publishing their ages. We are confident that young Nigerians will draw inspiration from these true life stories of excellence and achievement.”
Also scheduled to attend the Nominees Reception are some of Nigeria’s best music acts including Praiz, Niyola andChidinma, who’ll entertain all with their hit tracks. These Nigerian fashion brands - Sally Bawa, Violet Kutor, Vickky Elder, Moofa and Phunk Afrique will showcase their most creative pieces for The Future Awards “Get Your Green On!” fashion campaign at the event.
