“You deserve a national honour” – Fans, colleagues hail 2face as he turns 37

Fondly called 2baba by fans and admirers, the songster has within the last 37 years inspired many younger Nigerians with his music. Known for his popular hit-track entitled: African Queen, a song in praise of the African woman released under the Kenny Ogungbe’s Kenis Music Label a few years back, 2face the Idoma-born Benue State singer is no doubt a five-star artiste. Call him an R&B maestro or a hip-hop poster boy – each label fits him like a second skin.
Born on this day, September 18, 1975 in the Tin City of Jos, Plateau State, the proud father of six alongside his kinsman, Garuba AugustineAhmedu, better known as Blackface teamed up to form the defunct R&B/hip hop group Plantashun Boyz few years ago.
Dailypost learnt that the superstar has since being receiving goodwill messages from fans, friends, colleagues and even top government functionaries. Some of his ardent fans who described him as Nigeria’s ‘King of Pop’ said he should also be honoured by President Goodluck Jonathn. A close insider source said a top politician in Abuja is making plans to host him.On May 2, 2012, 2Face Idibia and Annie Macaulay, a Nollywood actress,got married in Lagos, in a private ceremony.
The singer announced his marriage via his Twitter page. He has a child with Annie Macaulay, and five children from previous relationship.
