10 feared dead as gunmen attack three banks in Edo State

A gang of gunmen this evening invaded the town of Auchi in Edo state, attacking three major banks.
Sources say the banks, namely; First Bank, GuarantyTrust and Access bank, may have received huge deposits earlier in the day as they were specifically targeted.
The robbers it was learnt used large cache of dynamites to blow open the doors and strongrooms of the banks.
The country has literally been under seige since last week when the Nigerian military declared 19 leaders of the Boko Haram sect wanted.
Monday evening attack which seems like a well-planned robbery operation, saw free use of assorted rifles and various sophisticated weapons by the assailants.
Witnesses say at least 10 persons were killed when the bandits engaged security forces in a gun duel that lasted over an hour. It is still unkown which side recorded casualty, but some residents were reportedly hit by stray bullets.
The police however is yet to make any official statement on the incident.
