Atiku Abubakar clocks 66, thanks well wishers


Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar on Tuesday thanked his friends and well-wishers who sent him greetings on his birthday.
The founder of American University of Nigeria (AUN) was born on November 25, 1946.
Atiku is a native of Adamawa State, and an influential member of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP). The former Vice President in a statement posted on Facebook page said: “I would like to use this medium to thank all of you who have sent in countless birthday greetings. It means so much to be a recipient to all of your commendations and well wishes. Words cannot expect how grateful I am. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. God bless you all.”
The former number two citizen attended Jada Primary School, (1954–1960); Adamawa Provinsional School, Yola, (1961-1965), with an Advanced Level studies in Economics, British Economic History; Government and Hausa Language, School of hygiene Kano, (1966–1967), graduating with Royal Society of Health Diploma; Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (1967), and also graduating with Diploma in Law in 1969.
He joined the Customs and Excise department in 1969, serving in Seme, Kano, Maiduguri, Kaduna, Ibadan and Lagos. He rose to the rank of Deputy Director before he retired to join politics.
