The University Management had on Tuesday directed all students to vacate their hostels before 6am Wednesday.
The students had been protesting against the school’s inability to secure accreditation of certain programmes like Engineering courses. The action later led to the shut of the school.
Sources say the soldiers were reportedly invited to the institution by the University Vice Chancellor, James Adelabu.

“We were chased with rifles and sticks, what a shame! And we are in a democracy,” he lamented.
Efforts to get the side of the management’s story were unsuccessful as the Vice Chancellor, James Adelabu, did not respond to text messages sent to his mobile phone..
