Actress and Television presenter Ama K. Abebrese has won the award for International African Film Personality at this year’s Screen Nation Film and Television Awards (UK).

She beat two other Ghanaians, Jackie Appiah and John Dumelo, as well as Nigeria’s Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Joseph Benjamin and Wale Ojo, to scoop the award.
An elated Abebrese, who attended the awards ceremony in London said: “So happy, blessed and humbled to receive the International African Screen Personality Award at the 2013 Screen Nation Awards in London. God is the reason.”
The industry-backed achievement awards recognise both audience favorites and emerging British, and international film and television talent.
The ceremony featured the cream of the urban black British film and television scene alongside established mainstream stars from the worlds of sport, music, fashion media and politics.
This year’s event took place at the Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge. It was hosted by Wil Johnson and Sarah Jane Crawford.
A delayed broadcast will air late February, and early March, 2013 across the Sky platform.
